View Full Version : Ships are fully repaired if you save your game mid-fight and reload?
Am I hallucinating or do ships that you've already damaged become fully repaired if you save and reload during a battle? I just torpedoed two AMCs travelling together but ran out of torps. I saved the game and decided to surface to see if I could finish them off with guns, got seriously damaged, reloaded the game only to find them whizzing along at normal speed again with no fires on deck or apparent damage?

Damage has not been saved in Silent Hunter games. Always fully finish off a ship if you're gonna save. heh

a good waste of eels on nothing..
you can wait till the rest of the convoy is gone or try to bump the hit targets rudder and screws (tail section) with your bow (:haha::har:) so that he wont go away..
it just happened to me, but the risk I took in surfacing and using the deck gun to finish them off was plain stupid. I got 68% hull, and was forced to load at the point before I surfaced, only to find the ships which were disabled and on fire (intact:hmmm:)

Thats how it has always been with silent hunter 3 4 and 5 . Save while on the surface with no contacts .

If they were immobile they stay immobile. Good way to make target saves. Gonna try to get the girlfriend to attempt a manual torpedo shot.

I do not believe you are correct on this one. It happened to me yesterday, where I sucked a few torps in to an aircraft carrier and it took about 80% damage. I decided to save in fear that I would loose the fight against the oncoming destroyers. I did loose the battle a few times, but all I had to do was to press the continue campaign and I was back in there with the Carrier damaged. Of course the fire on deck was not there, but the damage of the ship had been saved.
I did the same thing on another occasion against a huge battleship, and the same there..
