The party life of a rock and roll star doesn't really contribute to a long life I guess.

Rock.In.Peace. :yep:
Not one of my favourite performers, but he was one of the greats. Unfortunately one of the few left of a dying breed of Rocker. If there is such a thing as an afterlife, i hope he has as much fun in it as i'm sure he did in this one :)

Unfortunately one of the few left of a dying breed of Rocker. The artists may die, but metal will never.
Ronnie James Dio has had an undeniable influence on metal. If not for anything else, it's because he's the one who popularized the Devil's Horns.

That's a very unfair statement for Dio. The irony of this is that unlike the many of his rock-n-roll brethren, Ronnie lived a very healthy lifestyle. He took care of himself, and that's part of the reason why he was such an amazing voice and kept such an intense working schedule so late into his career. He wasn't a party animal, he was foremost an accomplished musician and wholesome family man.
I knew something serious was up since he announced his cancer last year. Had a bad feeling about it I guess.
But with the sheer amount of awesome music he's produced, he's sure to rock on into infinity
