All of this (understandable) moaning & groaning about missing broken/features here is all well and good and I'm and sure it is reaching the dev team as Dan is a frequent visitor here. But Dan is the one who can make a patch not the one who pays for it.

How many of us have communicated to Ubisoft about these problems using offical channels ie Tech Support? Not many I'll bet. We might be better doing things that way as it is Ubi "high command" who will pay for/authorise the patch development and they may not even be aware that there are a lot of outstanding issues here.

Although to ensure that the key things are fixed it would be best to contain yourselves to actual fixes eg the stadimeter, the sonar notepad, the wonky torps etc not "where is my Dockside 19 piece marching band and 23 French hookers"etc.

You do realize that there only has been an official patch feedback thread for a day or 2 on the official forums?

Why not do it online here in the ask a question (http://ubisoft.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ubisoft.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php) feature rather than snail mail/phoning?

Must admit I don't often visit the offical forums as it is a lot less mature and civilised than Subsim. Probably why we have more of a dev presence here too!

Sadly, we have our fair share of the 'less than civilised' posters, and not all of them are new to these forums either.

It's interesting to see how one game can divide a community so quickly.

It's interesting to see how one game can divide a community so quickly.

What's causing the split is that we have one group who strongly reject Ubi's DRM/OSP online requirement. This group's belief is that if no one purchased the right to play this game, Ubi would have quickly dropped the OSP. So they look at those who did order SHV as either traitors to the community or some sort of weaklings who have bowed to Ubi.

The SHV users, in turn, feel this rejection and become agressive toward the Rejectors.

When it comes to letting Ubi know what is going on in the marketplace, everything works. The internet is abuzz with criticism of Ubi and OSP. The reviews show unform critical comment.

I am sure SHV. AC2 and Settlers sales are down. Even the most inefectual marketing and customer service departments would have to be totally blind not to be aware that their strategy is not working. The bottom line is sales.

Whether Ubi feels their profits are satisfactory or not, I don't know. I do know they are not getting my money.

Too bad they launched a buggy sim as it only clouds the issue and cheats those who have spent good money on something that doesn't work as it is supposed to.
