We were always fools for siding so much with the KLA that NATO in effect became their airforce against the Serb army (who I don't condone what they did) but the KLA government are not cleansing Kosovo and behaving towards the Serbs as they were treated.

However NATO and the EU with the US were so blind and obsessed with the whole sovreign nation thing they went along with it.

Kosovo coming independent has only emboldened them to try and push for more.

The Balkans....a very unforgiving region and the hotbed of the European region....I doubt we'll ever see it cooling down totally.

Your right about Nato, the EU and US.....probably a quite embarrassing subject for them.

Well they didn't listen to us locals back then ....

Former Yugoslavia= Slovenia + Croatia + Serbia + Montenegro + FYROM + Kosovo+ Bosnia (with distinct, muslim/Croatian and Serbian components)

from one fairly large state --> 8 smaller states/regions with all of them wanting to enter the EU in a spirit of true friendship and cooperation (!!??!!).

Yeahp someone pulled a Balkan gambit once again, back in the '90s. It may still backfire, even more so in the destabilizing times we're living in.

Foreign-political dilletants like the EU should be forbidden to deal with hot topics like the Balkans. This "Ringelpietz-mit-Anfassen" that the EU so very competently envisioned for the Balkans, is so naive and maudlin that it brings pink, perfumed tears to my eyes whenever I think about it for too long.

Kind people, these all-mankind-embracing EU-philantropists, and so very good at heart!

Just so completely disconnected from reality. :dead: But they mean it oh so well, so how could we dare to criticise them?

... or are you against peace and love and tolerance and unity and friendship...? :stare:

:O:

I'm sorry, but seeing the title of this thread made me think of the movie "Wag the Dog"
