Well it seems SH doesnt like saving ongoing, long patrols. Been out at sea since the beginning of war and it is now 2nd May and I am waiting for the Coral Sea fleet to turn up.

I saved just before getting there...and have tried several searches....(nothing yet if anybody wants to tell me where to look :03:).

Once the day goes past the specific dates I have been reloading and then searching again, well trying to. 9 / 10 times SH will crash. When it does load I get some dumb arse crew member telling me each and every torpedo that has missed in short order.. Torpedo missed Sir, Torpedo missed Sir, Torpedo missed Sir....yes yes yes...dont tell all the crew they will think im a right donut.

Now the clocks all screwy.....it is telling me its 15.13 but its night time outside.

I do not constantly overwrite a saved game, fresh one each time but notice they are around 6mb? Why so large? Isnt it just a text file with previous achievements or is it saving everything I have done in the last three months?

Is there a "best" way to save

The game resets a lot of stuff every time you save and reload

The clocks have your base time on them not local time so the farther you're East or west of the base the more the time is off.

Torpedo missed is a bug on load up, you can get several different things.
No real affect on the game but kind of a pain.

6 month patrol is very long and the game saves all kinds of data so you get big save files. As far as a best way to save I think shorter patrols would help.
In stock 1.4 I took the Hellcat war patrol clear to the end of the war, had over a million tons sunk. Those were huge saves but they loaded ok if some what slow.

I haven't had any more luck on Coral Sea than you so no help here.
