Greetings all, looking for some re: a missing file.

When I installed GWX3 a file was labeled as corrupted, I'm wondering if anyone knows which .bin file has it?
I don't really want to have to download them all.

the corrupted file is 'NKSs_TOG.tga' (not sure if that is a O ora 0 )

thanks

Could it be the NKSs__T06.tga file?

That's a file from the data\Sea\NKSs_ directory. PM me with an email address and I can send you a copy of it if that's all you need.

Did the installer just throw up this error or the Game itself?
If it was the installer?
Chances are there are many more whacked files!

I've no idea at this time which bin file holds that data.
Been so long since I wrote the installer.

Did you follow the protocol for installation to the letter? This happens when an old install is upgraded.

Could it be the NKSs__T06.tga file?actually it's the NKSs_T05.tga file, misread the 5 as a G, and I do have numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 of those files.

Chances are there are many more whacked files! The installer gave me this, the game seems to play ok, I guess I haven't hit what this file references yet.

thanks for the replies folks

re:NKSs__T05.tga

I did some poking around and it looks like this is an image file, Truevision TGA Image (.tga) I'm guessing skins for a ship, so hopefully it isn't too critical.

Yes it is a ship skin image file. It can be found in the Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/data/Sea/NKSs folder. It should be a TGA file 1.00 MB in size.

If your not yet sorted, here is a link to the tga:

http://www.filefront.com/16407141/NKSs__T05.tga/

Take on board what privateer posted because you may well come across further negatives as you progress through thr game.

If the above happens I'd advise you d/l the mod files again...unfortunately there have been recent concerns over the reliability/integrity of the files over on the GWX website, I would therefore suggest you grab them from my FF account (link above my sig) where I know the files are 100% reliable.

You would also have a greater choice because as well as the GWX3.0 exe and 7 bin files there are also links to torrents the multi file pack as well as one for the full single file installer.

I still suspect your problem is a residual file (or residual files) from a prior install being loaded into your new install. See: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=102096, post #5301

Where bigboywooly wrote
"More than likely you will have other problems you dont see yet
IIRC Windows7 uses a virtual store to hold compatability files ( in Vista and carried over to Win7 )
So Win7 will hold these files and when you over write with a mod it will replace them
Only happens in Program files which is why you dont install there
lol

Those files are in %SystemDrive%\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Virtu alStore

Make sure you delete those too."

Thanks for the file Jimbuna,

like I said don't seem to be suffering any ill effects, but if I do I guess I'll have to d/l those files again.

and to Irish1958, I had a look in the Virtualstore and there was nothing to do with SH there.

again thanks for the assistance.
