Why when you spring a leak in the overhead plumbing it never stops?....And when you quit a campaign is there not a way to not have to choose everything again?...Like guns,torps etc?

Hey Clayp! I'll take a chop at those questions there...
The leak in the overhead plumbing is the same thing as all the clanging and crashing and yelling when you restart a game after quitting for awhile. It's just eye and ear candy, meaning nothing but "This is a kindly reminder that your sub has some damage you might not remember from last time you played. <wink> It's still there!"
@#%$#$$ it. Here I am writing dialog for the "Sultry Blond Mod" which would take the place of the leaky plumbing and crashing smashing "We're taking damage!!!!" silliness.
OK, second question. The envelope please..... Nobody, but NOBODY knows the contents of this envelope, hermetically sealed, stored on Funk and Wagnall's front porch overnight in a driving rainstorm and delivered to me unopened by the hand of man.
OK, you can cheat a bit and never have to choose your sub loadout again as long as you're willing to start out from the same port at the same time. Just start a game, set up your sub and stay in harbor. Save the game with a name like Mission Start Pearl 1942. Then play. when you save the game, of course, you'll save it under a different name. Now when you're ready to begin a new career, you don't do it! You just load up Mission Start Pearl 1942 and rock and roll.:rock: See? I'm sneakier than I look.
RR I love you!!!!!!.....:har:

RR when you do this and you have the boat inside the harbor can you still make changes in the files before you start the game?

Another way to change your torpedo load-out would be to modify you're submarine's upc file. For example NSS_Gato.upc found in your Data\Submarine\NSS_Gato directory.
You would look for and modify the following: (Items listed are for bow torpedos. Stern torpedos are modified the same way)
Orange = Torpedo Type
Blue = Quantity
[UserPlayerUnit 1.Compartment 5.Weapon Slot 1]
ID= TorpMountB1
NameDisplayable= Torpedo Tube 1
Type=NULL
AcceptedTypes= TorpedoTube
UserCustomizable=No
IDLinkBunker=BowTorpedoRoom
IDLinkWeaponIntervalDefault1= NULL, 1944-09-31, TorpedoTube21inUS, Mk14Torpedo
IDLinkWeaponIntervalDefault2= 1944-10-01, NULL, TorpedoTube21inUS, Mk23Torpedo
ExternalNodeName3D= NULL
ExternalObjectName3D= NSS_Gato_Door02_FRU_anim01
ExternalDamageZoneTypeID3D= 58
Making those changes from WeaponSlot 1 thru 6
Then for your storage torpedos, find and change the following:
[UserPlayerUnit 1.Compartment 5.Bunker 1] ; Forward Torpedo Room
ID=BowTorpedoRoom
Capacity=10
IDLinkAmmunitionIntervalDefault1= NULL, 1943-12-31, Mk14Torpedo, 10
IDLinkAmmunitionIntervalDefault2= 1944-01-01, 1944-06-31, Mk14Torpedo, 3, Mk18Torpedo, 4, Mk23Torpedo, 3
IDLinkAmmunitionIntervalDefault3= 1944-07-01, 1944-12-31, Mk14Torpedo, 5, Mk18Torpedo, 4, Mk23Torpedo, 1
IDLinkAmmunitionIntervalDefault4= 1945-01-01, NULL, Mk14Torpedo, 4, Mk18Torpedo, 6
The number after the name of the torpedo is the quantity of the torpedo. For this to work correctly the quantities of the torpedos must not exceed the capacity.
I would recommend backing up your upc files prior to editing them. but changing the values will change the defaults for your torpedo loadout to your liking.:up:
I hope this Helps :DL
