I've dug around and can't seem to find any details about this, so I'm hoping to get some explanation here.

I just barely survived an attack by shore batteries. My stern torpedo room was damaged pretty badly, and I had substantial damage to my engines and propellers and critical flooding.

However, I was able to stop the flooding and repair all the damage, but now my stern torpedo room is completely red. Clicking on it doesn't show any damage and I can't assign anyone to repair anything, but it makes me nervous. Is this structural damage or something else? Should I abandon my mission and head back to port before something goes wrong?

Yeah the structural integrity has been severely compromised, I'd recommend heading straight back to port and not diving too deep. You might also be limited to how many crew members you can assign to the section as well. I remember having my bow quarters wrecked and couldn't put my watch officer in to rest as the compartment had apparently been destroyed.

Ok, thanks -- I'll head back and see if I can avoid any more unpleasant encounters...

If you're as lucky as me, you'll get the crap bombed out of you 30km from home :damn:

dont dive beyond 50m, and if you can avoid diving, then dont dive. no telling how many holes you have there that cant be plugged.

Best bet would be to hit the Esc key and simply teleport back.

Awwww... but that seems like cheating and doesn't give me a chance to use my last two eels. ;)

Then run the risk of the obvious :DL

Heh-heh -- well, it looks like the high command didn't like it either. I ran into a Large Merchant on the way back, sunk him, and then they told me to retire. :wah:

BDU reminds the legendary Kaleun Jimbuna that teleporting is not a tactic that can be classified as agressive.

But, we can teleport you to the Eastern Front :D
