I hope our guys look good. Last time I saw footage US troops on parade was in DC, inauguration day I think, and they looked like a bunch of tourists. No one was marching in step and everyone was looking around. I hope their CO got an administrative b*tch slap for that one.

Does this mean we'll soon be seeing Russian infantry marching in Times Square? :hmmm:

I have a feeling they'll be very disciplined in Moscow, wanting to show off on a foreign country.

Why not?

Propably because most americans would cry for bloody murder. Isn't that where the whole being american thing is based on. Americans can do whatever they want to others aslong as the same isnt done to them.

Why not?

Because they would soon find themselves under attack by Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, and whole host of brave teenage American guerillas wielding everything from bows and arrows to RPGs.

I and many other things absolutely normally perceive participation of Allies in Victory parade. What to do if in each country there are groups of idiots which against.

Another news

On Neva the American rocket carrier has moored

Visit of the American vessel is dated for celebrating of anniversary of the Victory. Onboard frigate-rocket carrier USS Kauffman the commander of 6th fleet of the USA vice-admiral Harris has met veterans of Northern escorts.

Representatives of member countries of an Antihitlerite coalition arrive to Russia for participation in celebratory actions on May, 9th. In Petersburg today too have welcomed visitors — a frigate of the American fleet. However, the main visitor - the commander of 6th fleet of the USA vice-admiral Harri B. Harris who also has arrived to Northern capital. Today onboard a rocket carrier it has met Russian seamen-veterans of Northern escorts

naaaa

i say let the Russians come and march. its just a parade for crying out loud.

If we hosted a world war 2 parade which was intent on having the nations involved march in the parade... Russia's involvement would be compulsory IMHO

Honestly I really don't see why we couldn't have the Russian army parade down mainstreet during a celebration or some other special event, seeing as how we'll be doing the same to them. That's definitely something I'd try to see. :)

Same, I say we bring over a few Russian tanks as well, would be awesome.

Bonus points if they include Zeppelins.

We have had Red Army vetrans, (not serving members), march at the annual ANZAC Day commemorations for many years along with many other nations. Up until around the mid 1990's though it was almost only Australian, New Zealand and UK vetran associations that were permitted to march.

TBH I don't see why the the Russians shouldn't be able to march in the US. The commemoration thing is interesting though as the USSR commemorated the "Patriotic War" and not WWII. This was always poised as an entirely Soviet conflict against the Facist aggressors. Their positiion was that it was a fight for survival of the Communist ideal with a view to expanding that ideal to less enlightened countries once the war swung in their favour. In their opinion the war would have been won by them regardless of what the rest of the allies did.

They clearly conveniently fail to recall any of the Arctic convoys, the Persian Corridor and the Pacific Route or Lend Lease materiel provided at virtually no cost by the UK and US.
