Jokes aside, my thoughts are with everyone stuck in that mess. Hopefully they can get it sorted soon.

One of the disadvantages, i suppose, to not having TV in my homeis that this is the first im hearing of it.

We have a TV of course, but it is pretty much reserved for DVDs, ie we have not hooked up any cable/sat services

Hope they recover from this quickly

There is no story there...

No victums pleading for help from the federal goverment.

No one wandering aimlesly wondering where the goverment is.

No one cavetching about a lack of response from the federal goverment.

No appeals to be 'rescued' by the federal goverment.

This is not Lousiana.

The residents are busy taking matter in their own hands (as they should) so the media has little interest.

Theres more important things for the media to cover like 24/7 coverage on the poor times square bomber and how he lost his job and was foreclosed on. Now thats news.

Even though he quit his job and attempted to skip out on the mortgage.

like the man said - you dont hear about it because the citizens are not all climbing up on the roof waving FEMA HELP signs and waiting for the government to do something about it.

Lies, I tell you, lies! It was hippie-saboteurs!

I guess the US should prepare against, you know, forces of nature, and stuff? You should, like, declare "war against rain", or something. :har:

Heavy rains.

Master of understatement :salute:

To be a little more specific a 500 year flood. Lets hope for their sake its another 500 years.

Just because we don't post here, does not mean that we don't care. Not every news story needs a thread on a video game website.

I think they were talking about a bit grander scale. You know like a little more than a casual mention on the evening news.

I don't know what news you watch, but our news here in Virginia is full of stories about this tragic flood. Nothing casual about the coverage in my state.
