Hey people! First time poster here :)
I was just wondering if you guys could give me any assistance with the Historical Ship Names bit of SH3Commander. The ship names are where they are meant to be, the option is toggled "on" for them to be used, but the patrol logs still refer to ships as "Medium Cargo" and the like, rather than by proper names.
Could anyone help me figure out why it isn't working so I can fix it? I have the Steam version of SH3, and also have GwX 3 Gold Edition installed. This is on a Vista OS computer, in case that changes anything.
Thanks,
Milly

Actually, ignore me! :O: After reading the SH3Commander manual, I figured out that you needed to update your Personnel File before the proper names would appear in the logs :)

Thanks! I got the game a few months back when SH3 was £5 in a Steam sale, and been loving it ever since. Played one or two careers in stock, and then I discovered this site and GWX.... it's like a completely different game.
Any other mods you guys would suggest? I have:
GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects
GWX - Late War Sensors Snorkel Antennas
GWX - Axis Mediterranean Aircraft Skins
GWX - No Medals on Crew
GWX - Open Hatch Mod
GWX - 16km Atmosphere
GWX - VIIC41 Player Sub
GWX - Intergrated Orders
LifeBoats&Debris_v4
And I'm wondering if there are any more that might make my campaigns a little more interesting :)

great list of mods you got already.
I won't give any advice which you "should" have, but tell you what I got additionally:
WB's decks awash and fuel-economy
WB's water-stream and exhaust
torpedo damage final
real depth-charge
no continous "ship spotted"
sh5 water for GWX
MaGUI 3.2
I'm fine with them.

Ohhh... the "SHIP SPOTTED" one would be useful, since I'm parked up in Kiel, so it does it constantly while going through the canal. Could you link to the SH5 Water mod? I couldn't find it, and since I have a nice PC, anything that ramps up the graphics is good by me!
Which mods put the crew on the decks and have them get blown off with explosions and the like? Just that I've seen some pictures of crewmen on ships, and I fancy having a mod that does that to help with the immersion.

Yup. I actually had it working fine with one career and then started another and went right to my patrol log after the first combat patrol and thought it was suddenly "broken" somehow. Kept checking and doublechecking the shipnames file and scratching my head... until I realized I'd never updated my Personnel File.

That's what I did :haha: It was fine in my first career, and then was "broken" in this one.
That'll teach me for not playing for a couple of months!

That's what I kept doing, going through names and files and swapping out the cfg's over and over... Oh well.
