I love the graphics (obviously) and the fact that you can save underwater, in port or right next to another ship. In fact you can save ANYWHERE!

Holy smoke!! I found that on wikipedia. Figures though, it's a picture of hippies during a 1981 meet of some kind. I should have known better. :har:

I doubt anyone would have really noticed if it hadn't been pointed out. :haha:

I love i was able to return the game with no hazzle at my local shop, after trying in vain playing it for three weeks due to "an internet connection is required" problem.

Great Job, UBI ! Love it !
Now where's the promised err picture ?!

What do i currently love about SH5?
The uninstall function, that and the fact that it no longer ties up space on my hard drive :haha:
Maybe one day SH5... maybe one day.
but im dedicating my hopefulness to other projects

I like how people who don't like countless pointless threads post in them anyway.

Odd as this may sound, I was sorta hoping to see positive comments here. I know I've posted my stance on things elsewhere vis-a-vis SH5, but I would like to see what positive comments and praise others may have regarding SH5, and I'm a little disappointed that I'm not seeing any here (and by here I mean this particular thread and not the entire forum).

why should we, so we can be attacked by all the active SH5 haters?
All the problems w. SH5 are in the campaign, which will hopefully be fixed in the patch.
SH5 w. a few mods, works perfectly in MP and single missions, and IMHO works better and is an improvement over SH3 and 4.
I have not played SH3 since 2007 so cannot comment, but still play SH4. The new changes made to escort behavior in SH5, with scripting, is much more realistic than what is in SH4. Of course, that is in single missions w. a few mods.
The ability to walk through the boat makes for a very immersive experience. I like the changes made to the periscope/TDC/mini-map interface which make it easier to work out your firing solution.
I personally find SH5 to have a lot more potential than either SH3 or 4.

Graphics, graphics, graphics! Slow down that ocean water action and the environment is incredibly realistic.
I agree with Bilge_Rat's comment below that SH5 has more potential than its predecessors. Imagine the AI improved to the point of being unpredictable when it should be, and predictably nasty when it should be, and add to that a refined crew interaction system that adds drama and realism to being in the sub.
Neither of these is easy to do, obviously, but IMO they are all that stand between SH5 in its crude and massively criticized form and the U-boat sim we dreamed of while playing Aces of the Deep.

People playing a game that they love and not posting about how much they love it is normal. It's normal for people who play a game that they love playing to complain about it no end. What's weird is the people who aren't playing the game, because they claim the game is unplayable because of the game breaking bugs, whilst others play on, seemingly unaffected by the bugs.
On a related topic, I don't ever post about how great it is to not be abducted by aliens and probed every night. Although, thinking about it, I am very thankful that doesn't happen. But on the other hand, I don't really have any belief in those that claim that they are abducted by aliens and probed every night, because I don't believe that does actually happen to them.
For the latter delusion, there's tin foil hats, for the former, there's subsim.
* Just so people don't take this too seriously: Aliens may or may not exist and if they do exist they may or may not abduct people. Of those they adbuct (if they do) some or all of those may or may not be probed. No slur is meant on those who have claimed they have been abducted and/or probed or any disrespect intended to those who suffer from psychological problems, whether they know it or not.

Positively
Graphics, graphics, graphics!
Agreed. For me it's not only the graphics of course,
The modding possibilities, mods available already, and the future availability of even greater mods is something i "love" about this game too.
That there was/is even a SH 5 is another positive for me (regardless of the shortcomings currently).

Yes the graphics are the best improvment in the SH series. And even though the bugs drive me crazy and make me not want to play SH5 anymore, I still cant bring myself to play SH3 instead because it just doesn't compare with SH5 (in graphics).
Hoping that the patch comes out VERY SOON !!!!! so I can play without the frustration. e.g. Finding a sound contact, plan to intercept it...... then after a few hours find out its stuck to me. Just stays at a set distance and moves the same as me. ( I play at 100% realism so it takes awhile to work out its just stuck to me). this bug alone make me not want to play SH5 (I could live with the other bugs).... been 3 weeks now since i last loaded it up.
