Would Ubi buy a historical campaign?

Hi Everyone,

I have a question to ask the membership here and I'm hoping some of you might be able to tell me if I'm wasting my time or really on to something. Some of you might be familiar with the Steel-Sharks. Well, I've written several historical campaigns for SH3 and we are playing one of them at our Steel-Sharks website. I've spent a long time looking up convoy routes, convoy makeups, and other data on the internet about these convoys before I scripted them into my campaign. Its been exhaustive work. I have close to 500 historical convoys just through mid 1942. Many of the great campaigns are in there, Norway, Operation Torch, and others. The only thing I don't have is the Med campaign scripted in, but I'm working on the research now.

I began to wonder if Ubi would actually purchase this campaign from me and release it as a patch. But of course I also knew that Sh5 was coming and they may not want to bother. So I decided it was worth a shot and I tried calling Ubi and talking to one of their designers. I left two messages and they never returned my calls. So should I just give up or keep trying? Is this something the Subsim community would want or do most players just want to play the stock campaign and not care about playing one that has historical convoys in it with accurate escorts?

Just wondering guys, what do you think? I know Sh5 has historical convoys in it, but I kind of laughed when I heard they only have 200 or so of them.....:har:

I think they could have at least returned my call and told me they weren't interested.....

Have you seen SH5? Have you seen any worthy content in SH5? Do you consider SH5 a finished product would YOU put it out for sale the way it is right now? I know you are well intentioned and all, but if you answered yes to the last 2 questions then God help you because no one on this forum will ;)

If you answered no then you have your answer right there. I personally LOVE your idea and I would support it 100% :up: Ubi however will not give a crap. They care about money your idea would not appeal to the masses but a select few. Select few do NOT = large profits.

Perfect example SH5 no content just eye candy. Amazing eye candy no question about it but nothing more :nope:

You should be talking to the community devs like the people that made GWX and NYGM to name a few.

as Immel said, you ought to get in contact with the supermod guys. they are active on these forums. It'd be great if a mod could be made that would be compatible with the current supermods.
