On the first picture, I see someone wearing a white hat, are they keeping the tradition for the Captains to wear the white summer hat?

Oooo, pretty! Very nice-looking sub. Does it come with cupholders and automatic parallel parking? :DL

Hello,
@Krashkart

" ... Oooo, pretty! Very nice-looking sub. Does it come with cupholders and automatic parallel parking ..."

Yes, but it is a chore to handle - it has the BMW central control knob for all functions:
Turn it to get to the menus, press it for a 1/4 second full speed ahead, pressing it for a 1/2 second and it shoots all torpedoes, but the latter only on sunday, otherwise it automatically raises a white flag and sets course to Loch Ryan.

And it has tinted windows, if only in the export version :O:

You just don't understand the art of the 206.:O:

Hello,
the type 206 was foremost a surface ship, but it was considered as being so ugly, that the naval forces said they could only stand it submerged.
When a type 206 surfaced near a US carrier the flattop captain was very furious, because it was so ugly :O:

The Type 212 is a beautiful design and looks like having a pretty diverse capability when the planned upgrades are fitted in the next 2/4 years.

If you had checked the picture you'd have seen it said Type 212 right in the title. :lol: Greece operates the Type 209 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_209_submarine) and Type 214 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_214_submarine), the improved export variant of the 212. (According to the Wiki)

Good joke Feuer Frei!:yeah:

Portugal bought 2 new subs, that I am still to know if they are the new variant of type 209 or the new 214 type.
If we will ever get them...

Yeah, they do look very similar. Really the only major external differences between the two are the arrangement of the stern planes and a sharper, more angular build on the 214.
