Can't activate Deck Gun on 'S' boat

I'm on my first cruise ever in the Pacific (with Ubaot addon and TMO). I get assigned to an 'S' boat but when I try my first gun exersize I find that I can't get the deck gun to move. It's as if it's disabled or tied down. I thought it was related to heavey weather but now I don't think so.

Any help will be appreciated as usual...

Order the deck gun manned, should free it up for you.:up:

ETR thanks. I did try that with no change. I'm rusty on crew management though so I just pushed the button labeled 'man the deck gun'. Nothing changed. I went to the crew managemet page and saw that some swabbies were standing at the deck gun...any other ideas? The gun actually looks like it's pointed slightly down but I know I hadn't taken any hits yet. When I go to the gun and move the mouse or keys it just doesn't move.

Try using the zoom feature and use the arrow keys to pan the gun see if that works.

did that Bill - it MUST be that I'm not manning the gun right - i doubt i have a unique issue here - all I have to do is to man the gun is hit the right command button right - I don't have to designate which sailors?

If you are manually using the deck gun just click on the deck gun button in your HUD to go to station, depending on mods you have you might have to click an ammo type before it will load. If you want the crew to fire the gun you need to have them man the gun and tell them when to begin to fire.
