I doubt it.
But if given time (im talking years not months) im sure the extra years and all the extra units and so on will be added by the modding community.

I'm not so sure about years. I can't remember where, but I read in another forum that they'd managed to extend the campaign and remove the abrupt 'end' - I doubt it includes historic engagements from 43 onwards, but still pretty cool!

Well it's all well and good extending the war to its end in 45. But you need to add in all the peripherals if it going to be worth the while.
What is the point in extending SH5 to 45 in its current state?
The is none in my mind the game is missing all the other U-boat types that were used in the war bar the Type VII. Not to mention all the other merchants, warships, planes and there weapon systems.
You see where im going?
It is a job best left for a Super-mod after the final patch has been released.

Yeah, to be fair I agree. there'd be diddley squat point in being able to play in '44 with the technology from '43. Plus If you want historic accuracy, there ain't much chance of surviving for long from '43 onwards!

Sad thing is a lot of actual u-boats did, and much of the technology was barely useful by the time it was deployed (ala radar warning receivers) and much of dubious use at all like the radar decoys and early homing torpedos.
The things that kills it is the lack of allied technology advances. By 44 Air ASW platforms had a crapload of scary stuff and the hunter killer groups were capable and relentless.
Sure it will, if you missed SH4 they released an add-on that included the u-boats.
After they do the usual 3 or 4 patches to repair what they could not complete during the short development time period, the next phase will start.

Not sure, but it called "Battle of the Atlantic", I guess if I bought a fighter sim called "Battle of Britain" it would be strange if it went on till 1945?
maybe an addon would be better?

Yes maybe you're right but....the game could go on till 6 june 1944. Would be nice to see the D-Day :O:

i bet they had expansions lined up, you know you gotta milk every last DLC, based on today's standards, theyd charge per year till whenever te war ended over there.
prolly not going to happen if enough ppl "vote with their wallets"

Ubisoft has already grinded down my hope into small pebbles, and crushed them in a mort.

The time and effort required dictates you wait for SH6 and hope it not only has the full war campaign but is actually a better and more complete simulation than SH5. But if SH6 is just a "Pacific" version of SH5 then I think we can all say with confidence we are hosed.

I have modded SH5 to the eyeballs and I have to say that it's better than any Subsim that's come before. I hope that Patch 1.2 fixes a few of the niggly things that the Mods can't correct and then SH5 will be truly fantastic.
That being said, is this some kind of record for the amount of time between Patches
