Feuer Frei, try AOD with D-Fend Reloaded (http://dfendreloaded.sourceforge.net/). It's Vista compatible so I'm assuming it works with Win7.

Oh wow, this patch brings back memories, especially the Silent Service one. I spent hours playing that wonderful...gateway game.. LOL
Ahh back in the days when a games box art looked a zillion times better than the actual game itself. :haha:
-I was about to add 'but at least they finnished them before release' :DL
(But considering modern games are a thousand times more complicated and costly to develop than what they were, that would be a little bit unfair I guess.)
Seriously though. great nostalgic screens thanks for sharing.

Description:
Sub Hunt - Mattel - 1981

"With your periscopes, hunting for the boats is open! In this play you direct a fleet of 4 submarines charged to intercept and destroy 6 convoys of boats launched to the attack of your base. The attackers have an intermediate port and if they reach it, their fleet will become practically invincible with 3 destroyers moreover.
Launch the play by selecting a level from 1 to 5 on your pad. The play proceeds in two phases. In first, you direct your submarines using a chart in order to approach you the convoys of ships. Once the approach carried out, the phase of attack starts and you pass in sight “periscope”. Each convoy is composed of 6 boats with 1 destroyer. It is to better run a maximum of boats at the time of your approach if not you are likely to be taken in hunting for the grenade under navy. In this case, beat a retreat, plunge to the maximum and hold a new approach until total extermination of the enemy.
In Sub Hunt, it is possible to badly manage not parameters: the speed of the submarine, the course, depth, the sonar and shootings of torpedes. That makes the part very fascinating and realistic. When you are taken in hunting by a destroyer, it will be necessary to cut the engines and the sonar, to plunge to the maximum and to wait patiently until it leaves you quiet. At these times of the play it is hyper stressing and you hear the grenades explode more or less far from you. Sometimes, you are caught one into full pear of them… and, finished there under sailor!
In conclusion, Sub Hunt is a very good play, very fascinating and well done. The sound effects immerse you in the adventure (sonar, shootings of artillery, torpedes or grenades) and environment very is successful. A pearl on intellivision!
Consult the scans charts of play to know the orders."

"This huge box (88 x 44 x 7 cm) was part of MB's Floor Wars Series (http://www.subsim.com/wiki/page/Floor_War_series). Indeed, it is playable only on a floor --unless you have something large to put it on, like Ping-Pong tables.
This game is an introduction to naval miniatures of sorts; each player has four very large miniatures of WWII vintage ships (a battleship with its three escort ships) which manoeuvre about the large board. The players also have a "torpedo launcher" shaped like a submarine which fires discs that glide along the playing surface. The players aim at specific places along the ship waterlines. There, slots allow the discs to slide under the ship and trip a rubber-band mechanism which sends part of the ship's superstructure (or gun turrets) flying, simulating damage."

Well, if it is a .bin, it is still an image. So you have to "unbin" it first. Or load it into a virtual drive. You can try that with DAEMON tools lite. It is freeware...
Update: In that .zip there is a .bin with NO DATA in it. It is only 16 KB...

Boy this thread is making me feel old, but it also is showing just how far things have come from those days.
Yup Sub Hunt was my first home subsim. I was in my 20's and this one along with "Sea Battle" and "Star Strike" were my favorites.
I'd always though that the Intellivison was far superior to the Atari at the time.
How I miss that primitive, blocky graphic that left so much space to imagination...

indeed cool, best subsim ever! It is a nice gesture of the Russians, that they let us play this game online 4 free! thx 4 that!
And here is my personal record so far:
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/3294/morskoi.jpg
as you can see: 7 from 10!
Anybody out there, who reached more than 7 ? (if yes, show us a screenshot)!
O.K. guys: Lets make a short summary. So far we had screenshots from:
- Silent Hunter (1996) [thx @ danasan]
- WOLFPACK (1990)
- Torpedo Run! (1986) [not a computer game, just 4 the floor]
- Silent Service (1985)
- GATO (1984)
- Sub Hunt (1981) [which is still not working on my pc]
- Морской бой “Morskoi Boi” (Sea Battle) (1981) [about the year Im not sure]

At this point its time to leave the year 1981. Lets go on a trip into the past:
Lets make a short visit to the year 1976:

Lets continue with our Journey into the past: STOP at 1970:

Puuuuh! Very exhausting our trip. Its time to make a stopover in 1969:

And now there is the end of our trip (for now): 1968:

I played Seawolf growing up. And the Intellivision.
Somehow this thread makes me feel alot better about the future of the subsim genre.

I remember playing this game when I was around 7 years old.
OMG! I had that too, I'd completely forgotten about it..
Thanks (God I feel old lol)

With enough beer, even the hillbillies enjoyed the strange floor game. http://images.boardgamegeek.com/images/pic131539.jpg
Even using his skills gained from playing "Twister", there was no way he could master "Torpedo Run". http://images.boardgamegeek.com/images/pic131868.jpg
On the following page u find 17 Images about "Torpedo Run! (1986)". The 2 quotes from above I stole also from that page: CLICK (http://images.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http://images.boardgamegeek.com/images/pic131868_md.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/131868/torpedo-run&usg=__sN_6Tq1pcgg9yjJ2OFwq8w2tCb8=&h=375&w=500&sz=86&hl=de&start=1&itbs=1&tbnid=66Cn5aC9QICteM:&tbnh=98&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dtorpedo%2Brun%2Bgame%26hl%3Dde%26sa%3 DG%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1)

I'll certainly be taking a look at D-Fend reloaded- so far I haven't been able to get Software Sorcery's "Jutland" to work in DosBox at all.

D-Fend reloaded seems to be nice. I am just now playing around with it...
Works fine for me. Caution where to install it under VISTA / 7 regarding the path...

This small shot I took from this page: http://morskoy-boy.15kop.ru/en/
«Морской бой» “Morskoi Boi” (Sea Battle):
When i saw first time the “Morskoi Boi”-pic from "Feuer Frei" I was sure: "This is a russian machine!" But i was completely wrong. I would never guess that this is a machine from USA. I would like to know how this machine came from USA to Soviet Union?
we must consider: At that time was the cold war and american and soviet subs were the biggest enemies!
I am certain: The Russian children in the Soviet Union did not know that they play with a submarine-arcade machine from the class enemy USA.
Strange, isn't it?
Feuer Frei!

I'm assuming Jutland is a Dos game?
Have you tried dragging the Jutland exe onto the DosBox exe?
That method does all the work for you, no mounting c and inputting paths, etc etc.

Wolfpack only had two problems of realism
destroyers gun accuracy against a periscope, night , and surface
Torpedo fire rate and reload time , too fast .
except this problems it was great as a sim. :yeah:
