I wanted to change the difficulty settings in port. Is that possible?

I finished the tutorial and I am in kiel. If I continue campaign, I only get the option to talk to the two men about a new patrol/upgrades.

If I start a new campaign, I can skip tutorial and then choose "realistic", "high", etc. difficulty setting. I still only have the option to talk to the 2 guys.

Is there a way to customize difficulty settings?

While in Kiel, before you start the first patrol, hit escape, then options.

Yeah, you can change the options anytime you're in the sub pen area.

Yeah, you can change the options anytime you're in the sub pen area.

You can change them anytime you want actually.

Just go to your documents/sh5/data/cfg and edit the gameplaysettings.cfg you started the campaign at.

I was wondering, is there a setting anywhere in the campaign to change the actual game difficulty to a higher level?

I've read that in the normal campaign all the DD's have AI levels of novice and so on.. Is it possible to make them all Expert (or is it elite?) in the campaign? I want some proper Destroyer fun!

Funny you mention that cuz I just thought sitting here that there maybe a setting somewhere for this and perhaps with a mod you could just change the novice to veteran and so on..... Although that quite possibly is hard coded.

What is the difference between easy and hard anyways?

I believe all these will be true on Hard, and most not selected on Easy. Then you can also do a custom where you select what you want.

Life or death in my experience (of SH3 anyway).

I seem to be having difficulty making the game harder! I'm sure I'll get it sorted eventually.
