Can the game be altered so you can call for a crash dive whilst still on the bridge? The very fact it is a crash dive means an emergency and I would imagine a crash would be called while there were still people up top.
Just seems to really delay things having to climb down the ladder before asking for a crash dive

Seems pretty realistic to me. If you want to be able to insta-crashdive just stay off the bridge, near the attack scope.
I so wish this could be implemented somehow and the captain can be left behind with a :o face floating in the middle of the ocean.
Then we will see a lot of topics with "omg, the crew crash dived without me!!" :haha:

I disagree.......Lets say for example that you are quietly minding your business watching the sunset, stood on the tower when you are attacked by a couple of sterlings or some such. You wouldn't say "just hang on here lads, i'll decide what to do when i'm safe inside the tower" more likely you would shout "crash-dive" as soon as you saw them then hurtle down the ladder

That's entirely correct, and you just proved my point. Get hurtling down that ladder if you want to crash dive. :)
I totally understand what you want to have happen, and it'll probably be modded in (already DarkWraith has a teleport to station option, I'm sure you could script a teleport to control room and crash dive together) but till then you, just like captains of yore, need to climb down that ladder before you can submerge.

Hell its already too fast.
If Im on the bridge I just jump down the hole, leave the watch up there, and order a dive before I even hear the hatch close behind me.
Somehow the watch crew is already down here :06:
The captain is always the last one to leave the bridge. True story:

Thank you, nice link, but I don't know if you should believe Goebbels propaganda...:DL
Is not propaganda, it's logic. You can't just leave the bridge yelling for crash dive and leave those mens behind. You have to be sure that all men are inside the sub, life belt is not left out and the hatch is closed properly. You just can let these things to be handled by a sailor. And a well trained crew will move on light speed when the Alarm bell ring.
In SH5 the crew is a bit too fast, they just teleport and let you come down in the old fashion way :D

lol what are you talking about!!!? If there was an emergancy captains wouldnt run down the ladder across the sub and order a crash dive! They would scream at the top of their lungs through the hatch opening and "ALLAAARRRM" would be passed on throughout the boat. Then the watch would proceed to do the firemans drop down the ladder and all would be safe... unless your those unlucky few boats who dove without their watch crew...
