Ugh, been playing this campaign for 6 months or so, was about ready to upgrade to a type iX. I tried to load my saved file and I get the "Do you want to send error report to Microsoft" Got it three times (after rebooting) so I figure it's corrupted.

I was going to go back in and load the saved file right before, but I thought maybe i have too many saved game files and I'll delete a few. Welp, guess what happens when you delete a saved game. It deletes everything after it. I was crushed.

Now that I'm done venting, if this ever happens again, is there anyway to recover the corrupt file somehow? I doubt it, but figured I'd ask. Oh yeah, and I was on the surface out to sea when I saved.

Wish I could help you. :(

I've had the same thing happen to me: I'll go months without any trouble, and then I'll go to load a saved game and it stops at the "a long time ago' screen. Then I'll try loading the save before that . . . and before that . . . and before that . . .

Any more, once I start a mission, I never exit the game until I'm back in base, just in case. I'll put my pc in hibernate to save power when needed, but I won't ever again exit a mission until I'm safely docked.

I used to get that error report deal from Microsoft too.

The error wasn't in SH3, but my grafik card (ATI).
What I did to fix the problem was to turn OFF error reports being sent to Microsoft, and tell Windows Defender "hands off SH3".

It might sound wrong to the experts, but it worked.
Never had that problem again.

The error itself was not what caused the problem.
The problem was caused by Microsoft continualy hunting down the error and shutting down the program when they found it.

My answer to Vista was basicly:
I know there is an error.
ATI can not fix the error.
The error causes me no problems.
Ignore it!
