hello folks :)

I have not played SH4 for a bit ( been trying out SH5 and trying to get SH3 to run on W7 64 bit) and although it is running perfectly and I have no grumbles ( it too is on W7 64 bit), I do wonder whether I patched it to the max when I installed it. All a bit of a blur now what with one thing and another. How can I find out where I am at? I looked at the .exe properties and that seemed to indicate 1.0.0.0. I read somewhere that there have been four patches for SH4. I don't recall that many, so figure I have some to add.

Did you install the uBoat missions? If so, you should be completely patched.

It is not free; v1.5+Uboat is a Ubisoft addon, not a mod.

I think I must have the 1.4 patch and there does not seem to be any after that, so I don't know where I got the idea that there were four patches before the game was considered 'finished'. It runs fine so I will leave it now. I have just been back into SH5 and put DarkWraith's Old Controls on, which makes me feel much more at home, so happy bunny me, except now I have to go and mow the grass in the 'real world' (sigh).

Don't know if this is how you made the connection that you might be running v1.4 or not, but your version should be listed in the lower-right corner of SH4's main menu. I say 'should' because I don't know if this holds true for international versions, but I assume it does.

And the above info is right, The U-boat Missions expansion pack is actually considered v1.5 of the game; without it, you're still looking for 1.4 as your up-to-date version... But I think myself and quite a few others would encourage you to pick it up when you've got some spare change lying around. Just remember to get it through Subsim to help fund Unc'l Neal's private Kaleun fleet! ;)
