I'd like to know some "standard" setups as well, I'm new to SH3, last sub game I played was Silent Service back in the early 90's...

So far, SH3+GWX3 are my only modifications... as whenever I try installed a bunch of good mods that everyone seems to use, I always get compatibility issues, even using the combined sh3 files.

A word of caution....looking at the thread Jankowski has posted:

I notice Janowski hasn't even obtained it yet himself.

There are a great many other mods available that are compatable with GWX3.0

Who says they are the "current best mods around?"...In the main they are a collection of other peoples mods. I should imagine there are many modders of longer and more prolific production who could and may take issue with that statement.

It looks as if current users are facing the odd difficulty using said mod.

I am not knocking the v-modifications mod because I've yet to try it but would urge caution in adding a mod until it has been tested thoroughly by the releaser (the usual and safest practice).

In the meantime, here is a photo of 60+ mods used by my son....please be advised this is dated Dec 09 so some of the mods have since been upgraded.

At the end of the day it is your choice...I hope you enjoy your GWXperience http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

I'm a new user, so take this with a grain of salt:

The only mod I currently use is SH3 Commander. I plan on playing out a few missions and then re-installing a fresh copy with SH3 Commander and GWX. I may add more mods as I find things that annoy me. But at this point, learning the sim is more important than throwing in a ton of mods.

A sensible way to go....learn one mod at a time and at your own pace http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/thumbsup.gif
