well i boot up SH5 for the first time in a couple of weeks, i go to the graphic options as i cant remember what i have checked and what not. i discover that i have v-sync checked (fps eater) so i uncheck and i am told i have to restart the game.....which i do.
unfotunately i can no longer get passed the intro movie. at the end of the intro the screen just stays blank. and i have to close the whole game down using taskmanager. ive tried loads of times to get the game to load with no luck.
any clues??

Hi Mooncatt,
Have you tried changing the config files back to the way they were? You can change the video settings from the file <My Documents>\SH5\data\main.cfg. IN the [VIDEO] section, you can change the resolution, whether its windowed or not and also the V-Sync, which is called 'Synchronized'. If that doesn't work, in the mean time log a ticket with Ubi support, until someone comes along with a better idea.
By the way, what do you mean when you say V-Sync is an FPS killer? It should limit the frame rate to the refresh rate of your monitor, so you shouldn't be losing anything visually.
Hope that helps.

thanks for your reply.
yer i know what v-sync is supposed to do but it always seems to destroy the FPS, i know its supposed to limit the fps to the refresh rate of the monitor but everytime ive ever tried to use it its put my fps down to silly numbers like 20-30.
just so you know i have a POV GTX260 EXO version and my monitor is 60mhz, i have a pretty good rig which i built myself, i just never use v-sync, from what i can tell its never done anything but kill my games.
BTW the suggestion worked, so thanks very much :D
