Spawning, has anyone encountered this??

Ok so I have completed the Arctic Convoys campaign 3 months ahead of schedule so I thought I would have a look around. So I sailed first to Chatham, then London, then Dover then all the way a long the South Coast to Plymouth including Portsmouth....well you get the idea. I then continued up the west coast taking in Belfast and Liverpool and Greenock.

Basically I encountered no ships whatsoever, lots of planes but no ships so basically my question is this....Because officially I am still on the Arctic Convoys campaign which is in the north, does this mean that no ships are spawned in the south??? If not, anyone have any idea what the score is??


Also worth noting is don't go to London hoping to see the sights, there is nothing there except fields, trees and grass

that's too bad. I'm in the middle the Arctic Campaign, bored out of my skull, and was thinking about taking a few off and see what's going on in New York. After reading this, maybe not.

The convoy.mis is ever present throughout all the mission projects so ships will still be spawned from that file whatever mission you are in
Not looked to deep at the traffic.mis yet but that looks identical throught all project folders too so you should be getting traffic all over

The only thing which may differ is harbour traffic by project
Unless there is something only spawning in the mission area am not seeing

Just to satisfy my curiousity ran the mission ed from Dec 41 after loading the Arctic convoys project folder

As you can see by the red squares and green circled ( random groups ) there is traffic about

To be fair, it could have just been bad luck. Real U-Boot Commanders used to spend weeks if not months at sea without one single contact. The oceans are a very biiiiig place!

Sure I fully appreciate that but you would expect something in harbour, even a dang fishing boat!!

Anyway, I solved the problem, must have been some sort of bug...just re-loaded and the place was swarming with boats...hey what are you gonna do:damn:
