So I microwaved a cup full of tomatoe soup in my uber microwave.
I reached in to take the soup out.. It was in a styrofoam/plastic container so I used my bare hand. In taking it out I bumped the top and spilled some on my fingers.
Heres the results a few days later

Ok, now wipe the tomato soup off your fingers and take another pic :03:
Just kidding, that must have bloody hurt! I once burnt my the part of my hand between my thumb and finger on the side of a heat lamp at work, it sliced through the skin like a (literal) hot knife through butter but then did me the favour of cauterising the wound afterwards  Still got a slight scar there.

Ouch.
I would recommend putting some Polysporine or Neosporin on those wounds. Polysporin is the better of the two I think. That should prevent an infection.

I have been cleaning the wound with hydrogen peroxide, sanitizing it with alchohal OUCH !!! then treating with some generic sporin something and applying bandages.
This is what it looked like this morning after removing the bangages :nope:

You should sue yourself for not putting a warning label on the cup. Of course you wouldn't have heeded it anyway.:D

Nonsense, all your new fangled equipment proves nothing. His humours are inbalanced, once we figure out which one is out of balance and adjust it, he will be fine.
Failing that, we can always trephine him. :yep:

I have actually had leech treatment believe it or not.
Several years ago I sliced the pinky of my left hand clean through to the knuckle from the back side.
It required microsurgery to re-connect the severed portion including the blood vessels, tendons, etc.
Part of the follow up treament was using leeches to ensure blood flow to the reconnected finger end.
Heh on a funny side note my insurance tried to deny the claim seeing as they saw the loss of a pinky fingure was not in their mind detremental to my work. I only had to ask one question..."Do you type at your job?" :haha:

Can't really think of any job where the loss of a digit wouldn't be detrimental.

If not why not?
Unless you have very small fingers from what you have shown the burn area on just one digit is large enough to require proffesional appraisal, especially as it is on a surface that is almost always moving and stretching.

With all the under table circle jerks they have going on they need every digit they have.
ouch, I bet the air turned blue when you did that...
hehe, I once watched a female friend of mine replacing the 12v battery of her car. She was using a 10mm ring spanner to reconnect the terminals to the new battery and made the classic mistake of allowing the spanner to bridge the the two terminals. Of course she was wearing a couple of rings on one finger that were in contact with the spanner too... result: she welded the two rings together whist they were on her finger :har:
She was left with a rather nasty circular blister round her middle finger right near the knuckle.
Somewhat callously my house mate and I just stood there laughing... we called her 'sparky' for months afterwards.

Not only that, just think of all the pies they've got to try and get a finger into... I'm surprised they're not having extra digits surgically attached.

Same deal with a pinky toe, when I broke one of mine. People were like "well at least it's only the pinky toe, that can't be too bad." Yeah, I know it doesn't seem to do very much, but try walking around on a broken one for a couple weeks and you'll soon be very aware of everything it does do.

No.
Two reasons its not that bad of a burn at least it dident seem that way untill the skin started to shluff off and my healthplan has a big deductable.
Unless you have very small fingers from what you have shown the burn area on just one digit is large enough to require proffesional appraisal, especially as it is on a surface that is almost always moving and stretching.
Meh.. they would have done the same as I did... clean and dress the wound.
There are a few things I should probably mention. Firstly as mentioned before the burn did not seem that bad at first mild stinging and slight discoloration. No signs of blistering. I was not diligent and apply ice as I should have. Did I mention I had a few drinks at the time?
The other thing is I worked on my house/yard all day the next day including cleaning gutters and working on the (currently green) pool. These are not exactly the most sterile enviroments and being wet.... well by the end of the day most all of the dead skin had shluffed off and it looked angry as hell :o The stupidity of doing all that dirty work finally set in.
That evening I cut away the remaining dead skin and cleaned the wounds throughly with water/soap then Hydrogen peroxide followed by alchohal... ow ow ow... Not a drop of neosporin in the house. So I had to bandage them dry. Removing the bandages the next day was sheer joy I assure you. We now have antibiotic ointment in the house.
Ill take another picture tommorow morning and we call all watch the healing :haha:

Burns are the worst.
I would advise no longer to put alcohol on it unless you especially like the pain. Alcohol does a lousy job of killing germs inside damaged tissue, but does a wonderful job of irritating damaged tissue.
I would put some vitamin E on it, keep it covered and protected and let you body take care of it.
Very sorry to hear about this. Burns stynk. :nope:

The alchohal torture was after the contamination from the dirty work. Now its up to the antibiotic ointment. But your absolutly right its only for the inital treatment of surrounding areas. Alchohal can dry things up.. inside and out BTW ;)
Wow SteamWake, you were living up to your name, I think most of us have had similar incidents, I know I have, I hate burns, I'm the cook and once I opened the oven and took out the mornay, with bare hands,:o my mind was obviously elsewhere, I will go no further!!:dead:

Gawd.. when I was a kid working in some burger joint that featured baked potatoes :03:
They had this convection oven that needed to be cleaned every night. Of course wanting to get the heck outa there in a hurry ...
Yes I wore a glove but reached in with the other hand to help it out and hit the 500 degree F rack above it with my right hand. Instant 2nd degree burns.
Ahh! I felt that!!:dead: Oh the pain!!

The back of the hand actually has very little sensation so its possible to burn it really badly without really noticing. Even when you're sober. Happened to me when I was cooking just recently, reached into oven to take pizza out and back of the hand kept touching the hot part of the oven. Just burning hair and skin smell made me think somethings wrong, didn't really feel anything.

I will probably go most of today without bandages.

One of the interesting things is the way objects convey heat. A 500-degree oven can burn you badly, but sticking your finger into a cake that temperature will just feel warm. That's the real reason people can walk on red-hot coals.

Yea me too..
I was putting up my boat on a beach one time.
Someone had made a fire pit in the sand with charcoal. When they were done they dutifully covered it with damp sand... good camper.
Well of course I had to stand on that fire by accident in my bare feet. You know how it takes a moment while your like .. what the? Well by the time I realized what the.. I had second degrees on the soles of my feet.
To make things worse my feet had been in salt water all day so they were tenderized and ready to roast :haha:
I was much younger then and recovered quickly but it was hard to walk for about a week.
