Gents,

It's been a while since I last played SH3.

I have recently reinstalled SH3 and GWX 3.0 with SH3 Commander. I have installed nothing else.

I just want to ask, which mods do you use instead of GWX options to make the game much better?

I would be more than happy to hear and try your suggestion.

Welcome aboard! :salute:

There's a ton of mods out there you can try.
Try some sound mods:
Sailor Steve's Das Boot Sound Mod is what I currently use. Very immersive.
Thomsen's Sound Mod is a very good one as well. I've used it as well.

Environmental mods:
I am currently using ManosEnvironmentPro v3 (MEP3). It is a 20km environment mod which is very good. MEP2.1 is a 16km mod.

There is a bunch of mods that change the user interface (GUI).
OLC, Hitman, Manos, h.sie, and karamazovnew have made some great GUI mods that are worth checking out.

There are numerous small mods that I use as well.(Lifeboats& Debris, Torpedo Damge, various music mods by Lutzow).

And don't forget skins for U-boat-they mmake your boat look really cool.

I found that as you play the game, you come up with different wants and needs and then try to find the mod that helps that. The best thing to do is start trying different ones and see if you like them.

Here is my set... the only one that gets reallly f-ed up is the Integrated Orders because of the Flag and Pennants mod... but the rest, even with some "changes" from one file on another one, didn't seem to cause any problems... 43 activated out of 107.

I want a chance to try the sim before I install anything crazy. One mod I do have right now is SH3Commander.

Sorry but it was on my sons install and I'm using the extra ships for Wilhelmshaven campaign v2.4

I've just checked over at The Lair and it would appear the 34 ships mod has now been disvontinued...there is also reference to this here on SS:
