All being well should download tomorrow automatically.

Just remember to de-activate all your mods first....

@ rededge

seems to be easier for you to keep the MODS and just deactivate the GAME...

I am reinstalling actually

Although I have to say it was all working a dream...no, really!

Shame I can't hit a barn door @ 50 feet away though, still learning.:03:

Given the relative simplicity of fix list, it's taken quite some time for this second Patch to reach us. I am hoping that the Devs have managed a few pleasant suprises :03:

It's still Sunday most places isn't it? Given that the game itself didn't come out till 20:00 EST day of release, I'm not expecting to see the patch till sometime Tuesday. heh

Is only 7:07 AM Monday morning here in New Zealand and we are one of the earliest time zones. I was thinking the same, tomorrow we may see it.

Hmm, just reinstalled and it hasn't autopatched at all yet. Still 1.0.5

Game doesn't look good stock at all! I'd almost forgotten about the (damn) halo and dialogue balloons.

And, more importantly, there is no steam arising from one's soup :D

This upcoming patch promises improved performance in the sub interior apparently. This can only be good as my 4870 goes into overdrive after a few seconds mooching around in the control room.

I've even added another fan to blow air onto the graphics card itself now, bringing the total number of fans in the rig to (...hang on, counting)....11 !

3 into the front, 2 x push/pull on the CPU cooler, 2 out the back, one biggie exhausting out the top, 1 x blowing directly onto the GPU, graphics card fan itself, and one fan in the PSU.

Great things expected asap, Ubi :06:

I`m hoping for this too... Using 280GTX in Thermaltake Armor+ case, having 73-77 steady but when moving around interior it gets to 83 with ease.

I have a 4870 (overclocked a wee bit) but have never had lag or slowdowns in the control room. I've read about the problem but wondering if its more with cpu/memory problem rather than gpu? I run 4xAA in game 16xAF in CCC with all settings maxed.

At any case, you need to look into watercooling. Once you try it and hear the quietness along with great cooling you'll never want to go back. :DL
I customized my Lain Li case by putting a dual 120mm watercooling setup at the front pulling in air and have one exhaust fan. Have a dual 80mm slot fan sitting underneath my 4870 to cool down the Vram but my gpu, cpu, and northbridge chip is watercooled. I hooked all the fans to a voltage regulator so I can set the speed to my likings and keep things quiet. :)

I use a 4890 (which is basically a fast 4870), no problems here but again I hear your pain its no fun to be stuttering about the viewports internal or external.

I don`t think he`s lagging or having slowdowns... Just GPU fan starts turning like crazy same as mine (I have 80 fps+ in control room) which is normal since that part of the sub is not optimized, so we wish that patch will fix it.

Edit: 73-77 and 83 are values in degrees celsius of my GPU in different areas just to make things clear.

Ah that explains what I've overlooked then, so it's fan speeding up that I've not noticed... Well they do mention a fix for the control room area.. let's hope so. :yep:

Some ppl, like myself, just don`t like the noise :). My friend also built few years ago water cooling system and it was totally quiet. Removing stock cooler and replacing with something like this http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/arctic-cooling-mf-21.html helps pretty much too (had one on my older 8800GTX and worked like a charm).

And sorry for offtopic :)

I don't see it as off topic at all... if the update provides a solution without money spent on cooling solutions.... then that's money left in the pocket. :DL

My laptop fan was whiring along while playing so i bought some cheap silicone heat transfer compound . I took the old hardened paste off and applied the new stuff . Then i blew the dust out with one of these .

The fan hardly ticks over now .

No, no slowdowns, I play with Vsync on, so i don't know how many FPS- game runs fine.

Just the GPU gets in a bit of a lather when in the sub.

Patch now delayed further?
