Simply put up with the annoyance for a short time until you can get to shallow water with your boat. Sail to an area of ocean where the depth does not allow you to pass a thermal layer and the bug will go away. anywhere from 50 to 150 ft. will do the trick.

The "PAssing Thermal Layer" bug happens, it seems, when you mod something. I've had it change on me when i change the #of officers and NCO in the active unit file. I've also had it pop up when i change skins. The bug is the sounding of the speech file "Passing Thermal Layer" every minute or so. It is most annoying.

My experience with that bug is exactly the opposite of what you describe. I've only got the "passing thermal layer" bug in port at the beginning of a patrol and while surfaced. When it does happen, as long as I'm surfaced and at 1x TC, my sonarman will keep repeating that I'm passing the thermal layer over and over - every 15 to 30 seconds. Going past 8x TC makes it go away, and it stops as soon as I get further than 10nm away from port.

OK thanks...I just got that for the first time last nite, seemed to go away when I went to TC to get to my patrol area.
