Sure we already have one of these threads but then again, my top 5 have changed since then anyway lol
1. Heavy Rain
2. Uncharted 2
3. The Longest Journey / Dreamfall
4. Half Life / 2
5. STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl
If only I had more time to play them :dead:
Best holding my interest now:
-Silent Hunter IV (with mods)
-Jutland
-Achtung Panzer
-Team Fortress 2 (but mostly as something I do with friends - not so huge on the game itself)

Hmm, more like franchises, in no particular order;
Silent Hunter series
DCS series
OFP/ArmA
Flightsimulator
Total War series
Mass Effect trilogy is a favorite as well, X games, and basically anything that comes out Bioware (Mass Effect, NWN, etc)... ah yes, I have trouble making top fives... maybe I could do a top 30 or something. :hmmm:

I appreciate the link, bit outdated though...
surely things change?
That's the reason i posted this, to understand what people like and rate today, not last year.
1. War in the Pacific: Admirals Edition.
2. War in the Pacific: Admirals Edition.
3. War in the Pacific: Admirals Edition.
4. Combat Mission: Shockforce+ Marines and Brit packs.
5. Stalker: COP.
This is recent/current games right? Not all time?

Let's see, a current top 5 list is easier than an all-time top 5 list.
In no particular order:
Mount&Blade Warband
Rise of Prussia
WITP:AE and War Plan Orange
The Operational Art of War III (This is probably on my all-time list as well)
Victoria (Since yesterday. Definitely on my all-time favourite list as well though)
EDIT: And the Hearts of Iron series, if I'm allowed to go slightly over the limit.

Yup, recent/current games...
Dwarf Fortress
Europa Barbarorum
X3 Terran Conflict
Mount and Blade
Sword of the Stars I guess
No linear storylines of course, I'm not one of those gamers.
1. Battlefield 2 w/ PR
2. Battlefield 2 w/ PR
3. Battlefield 2 w/ PR
4. Battlefield 2 w/ PR

1. WWIIOL
I don't have a 2-5. I am in a bit of a funk game wise. I may purchase rFactor if I can find my steering wheel. Maybe they have a good F1 mod.
Hey, Brauer. has WWIIOL moved onto 1.31 yet? :hmmm: I'm having a break again (sorry, didn't meantion to 1775th about it, so prolly kicked out already).

Lol, wish I had time to play 5 different games :)
RECENT games:
1. Silent Hunter 5 - despite the bugs and problems, hands down the most enjoyable subsim yet.
2. PT Boats - well, I played it in Jan when I reviewed it.
3. vBulletin hooks and plugins - not actually a game but it's beginning to feel like one where the Boss kills me every time.
4. Ubisoft PR - a depressing, futile game that makes me want to go fishing. And I don't even like fishing.
5. College group projects - 4 projects due in three weeks... weep for me!
All time:
1. SH3
2. Age of Empires (all versions)
3. Battlefield 1942/Vietnam/2
4. Sub Command
5. Aces of the Deep

Top five of the games I'm currently playing/recently played:
Dwarf Fortress -- despite its flaws, one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played in my life. In an era where dumbing-down of games is the norm and realism is shunned like the plague, its appeal is especially strong. If you like complex, deep simulations with lots and lots and lots of depth and attention to detail, Dwarf Fortress is for you.
First Strike (http://fsmod.com/) -- my #1 favourite Star Wars game at the moment, probably because I'm one of the guys doing the testing and development:03:. Street combat, combined arms warfare, and even engagements in space, this game is what the Battlefront series should have been.
Mirror's Edge (just had to use red there, for obvious reasons) -- though it didn't live up to the gamaeplay model it showed us in the demo, and I've had quite a love-hate relationship with this game, I have to say that all things considered, I love Mirror's Edge and heartily look forward to the sequel. There's something about the beautiful, unbreakable Faith Connors and the experience of running and tumbling freely and unhindered about that greatly appeals to me, and though I usually don't consider visuals to be all that important, the state-of-the art graphics of Mirror's Edge really aided its immersion.
Falcon 4.0 Allied Force -- for the same reason I love Dwarf Fortress. One of the things that always frustrated me about flight sims is how all the buttons and switches and whatnot in the cockpit are there just for show. I've always longed to actually be able to interact with everything I see in the cockpit, and Falcon 4 finally gave me that ability. I never play it for long periods because the single-player campaign requires an insane amount of micro-management, but whenever I take it out for a spin, it's an incredible experience.
Pilotwings -- Pilotwings for the Super Nintendo was only meant to be a kind of tech demo to show off the SNES' 3D graphics capabilities, but became one of the console's greatest classics. A bit like Portal, you could say. This simplistic game gives you the reins of a light biplane, a parachute, a jet pack, a hangglider, and, in two interlude missions, a gunship, and gives you tasks such as... well, landing on a runway and falling through rings. Despite its fairly simplistic nature, it's surprisingly enjoyable. Like Portal, though, it suffers in that it gives you overly simplistic and straightforward tasks to solve -- even later in the game, when things start to get complicated, you're still faced with simple stuff like "take off, fly through archway, then land on the same runway". It's got two parts, and could really have done with a third that really challenged you with intricate puzzles.
All-time top five:
X-Com UFO Defense -- any praise would be obsolete. This one just got everything right. Well, everything minus its flaws, but who cares.
Dwarf Fortress
The X-Wing series -- only Star Wars games, perhaps except from FS, that I've ever passionately enjoyed. TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance were all really well done.
Ground Control -- hands down the best strategic game I have ever played. I could write pages of praise and comments and criticisms and "if they ever make a sequel, they have to do this and this and this" about this one. Available for free from massive.se, it's worth trying.
Dwarf Fortress
My current top 5:
1. Mass Effect / Mass Effect 2
2. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
3. NHL 10
4. Team Fortress 2
5. Napoleon Total War

Well, this is a neat read.
1. Dangerous Waters--A real simulation. I just never seem to get tired of it.
2. Fallout 3.--The furthest thing from a sim that you can get, but damn if it isn't engrossing. Waiting for New Vegas.
3. Empire Total War--Steam is horrible, but there is something about Total War games that just keep you hooked.
4. Flight Simulator 2004--FSX has too many shortcomings. I'm back to Century of Flight, even if it is dated.
5. War in the Pacific, Admiral's Edition--I am sorry, I love micromanagement.

Recently I'm been playing a lot of GTA IV in preparation for the two addon's to be released. I'm also in love with God Of war 3.
I'm also playing Crysis, Just Cause 2, and Mass Effect 1.
My all time favorite's are:
The Half life series, including Portal
The GTA series
And the Hitman series.
I think the biggest list is games I need to finish.
Which includes Mass Effect 1, I have number 2.
Gears of war 2
Rainbow Six Vegas 1
Assassin's Creed 2
The Fallout 3 DLC
Oblivion and it's Expansion.
The two ARMAII campaigns.
I'd like to finally fly in DCS Black Shark.
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.
And Bioshock 2
1. rFactor. This game has had me hooked since 2006, and its still the one I spend the most time in, racing in competitive leagues for points and that extra tenth of a second or just putting in some laps offline while drinking beer. Mods are still pouring out and still getting better. Other racing sims come and go, rFactor lives on.
I have a thing for cars from this era:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rogJExz7dPE
2. Men of War. I played the prequels Soldiers: Heroes of WW2 and faces of War exclusively in single player, but Men of War shines in multiplayer. Awesome game.
3. Napoleon: Total War. An orgy of eye candy and clever adjustments and tweaks compared to the underwhelming Empire. Great soundtrack too. Best TW since Rome. (disregarding mods)
4. Silent Hunter 5. Looks great, doesnt play all that well yet. Its on the list solely because I spend most of my time with the three first games.
5. I dont have a 5th game installed at the moment.
Task Force

as of now in no paticular order.
Hearts of Iron... Have alot of fun with it.
empire total war
napoleon total war
Crysis/warhead
Sh3
Sailor Steve

That's some nice racing! The BMW seemed a little faster, but you were able to head him off and hold him off. Looked like fun.
I'm not a gamer per se, in that I don't play games just for their own sake. I like history, and I like machinery, so I play the occasional flight sim and I'd like to get more into race sims, but mostly I play tabletop wargames.
The subsim is the one that has me the most, so I guess I have to say:
1. SH3
2. SH4
That's it.

SH5 is about all I'm playing at the moment. With a nice list of mods activated, it is actually quite enjoyable, despite the bugs.
DDO gets the odd bootup, not anywhere near perfect either.

Hey, Brauer. has WWIIOL moved onto 1.31 yet? :hmmm: I'm having a break again (sorry, didn't meantion to 1775th about it, so prolly kicked out already).
Within the next couple of weeks it should be out. All the focus testing concluded a week ago and they said they are only a couple of weeks away. April 6th is a Rat Chat, so I know it is soon.
I am in BlitzKader now, along with more than half of the former 1775 members. Long story, but the short version is that there was some drama so we created BlitzKader to avoid the issues getting out of hand.
My top games always installed
1) Sin Solar Empire Triology (Star Trek modd) + X3 Reunion + X3 Terran Conflict (last two heavly modded)
2) Faces of War + Man of War (both heavly modded)
3) SH3+ SH4 + MS Flight Sim Pro (all heavly modded)
4) UK Truck Simulator + Train Sim (both heavly modded)
5) Call Of Duty 4 + WWII + Arma2 (last one heavly modded)

4)Napoleon:Total War
5)Hearts of Iron 3
And an Honorable mention to SH5 which I've also been playing off and on.
