but funny if you're a liberal, not quite so if a conservative (Americans, that is):

Those are pretty funny. One would think that if a person of either side is willing to make a sign they would take just a little time to make sure the spelling is correct.

What was it I heard once? 'No wonder they don't trust the government. Look how public education has failed them."

Yeah, it's kind of ironic that the left claims hurt feelings over Tea party protests.

You are forgetting that for some of these people, having been educated to use, pronounce, and spell words correctly (not to mention form them together into an intelligible sentence) and then daring to show evidence of it in public is the mark of an "elitist" - i.e., someone who is to be despised for having achieved what they themselves did not or could not achieve. Being ignorant and apparently devoid of any of that pretentious "book learnin'," on the other hand, is the mark of the true "common man" and something to be proud of.*

I know, I grew up with a few of those types. Thank heavens they were not my only influence.

*Yes, I realize I ended that sentence with a preposition. Sometimes doing so is the lesser of two inelegant evils. And in response to any complaints regarding this egregious violation of the rules of English grammar, I can only quote Mr. Churchill's reply to a similarly offended aide: "This is arrant pedantry, up with which I shall not put."

Crazy stuff, huh? Especially when it's obvious to any intelligent person that he's actually some kind of exotic poly-blend.

ya know, maybe it ain't so bad that about 50% of the people don't vote. :D

Other then the fact that I think that most of the 50% who do vote are the very last people that should be allowed to vote.

I have to say though, from the examples provided by both of the fringes that you guys posted, I think our gene pool could do with a good scrubbing.

That smacks of "the final solution" somehow. Who would you have do the scrubbing? :hmmm: Who would be scrubbed and what kind of soap do you suggest? I like Fiorentino saponificio artigianale as it leaves a pleasant fragrance that puts me in good spirits. :D

Not so, I don't use Firefox.

That's right, I'm livin' on the edge here - IE with no spellcheck, just a Preview button and my own two eyes!

Er uh and of course there's that Edit button too, not that I ever use that. :O:

I remember as a kid reading the Exxon sign that said, "Happy Motoring." I always read it as, "Happy Mothering." I always wondered why the gas station cared about happy mothering. :hmmm: Then I gotz edjumicated. :yeah:
