new Simmer, with SHIII needto instal patch 1.4 for SHII so i can run the Warship Mod . I cant instal the patch tho? it says that their is an error with a txt file

I had the exact same problem yesterday when I went to reinstall SH3 and GWX after stepping away from it for a long time.

What you did was download the wrong version of the patch for your version of the game.

What version of the game do you have? As far as I know there are 4 Versions:

US DVD
US Download
EMEA DVD
EMEA Download

Which ever version of the game you have, you need to download that version of the patch or you will get the error you are receiving. I believe it is ?_menu.txt error:unknown. Again download the correct version of 1.4b and it will work. Keep in mind while you install it the installer will say 1.3 that is a typo it really is 1.4b.

If you do have the right patch, just delete the .txt file. The patch replaces the 4 .txt files.
