Silent Hunter 5, sharp hair on past glory!
One is the plight despite the Silent Hunter 5 - GAME SEVERs (DRM) to be treated with respect.
Ubisoft has apologized to me and gave to me a GAME To FREE - to DOWNLOAD .
Even if you think the money is always the sharks is always all about money,
am very pleased this grace.
Ubisoft has noticed that it needs us because the competition between
The Gamer producers is very large.
There are more cool games from other manufacturers other than Ubisoft.
I'm probably not the only one who benefits from this affection
I liked defied me to thank Ubisoft for the gesture.
was to Silent Hunter 5 as was said that it is superfluous to talk about
But I think with a Patsch this thing can be saved.
I think that is why we do not hear so much about Mr.Dan, for the now barely time for us
And must get the tractor out of the hole ( REWORK THE GAME ).
Good luck to the DEV. Tiem from UBISOFT!

Hello Tomi,
if it is you who made some of those beautiful engine room and other "mods", or better masterworks, vielen Dank und weiter so ! (wenn ich auch nicht ganz genau verstanden habe was Du meinst ;) )
Good post - maybe if people supported the developers with all kinds of information beforehand, and later on after publishing, it would serve all. Indeed this is certainly already be done by the modders, but - i guess - without communication to and from the original developers.
I think (while i especially hate this kind of DRM) that the sim Silent Hunter itself is (despite its flaws) a big step forward in the right direction - from U-boats being almost invisible in twilight, for escorts, to the idea of managing a sub via delegating orders, and only manage the stations you want to really be, in a certain situation. Water and graphics are phantastic, it was just that it was impossible to play the game due to those UBI server problems. But not to hijack the post.
Are there already teams that concentrate on one aspect of the war, and communicate this to others to mod it in, or even to the developers ? Should we do this ? Would the developers even like that ?
Really, sounds like a good idea.
Greetings,

I think you should also mention the fact that it doesen't seem to be the 5th of a series but rather the first of a new one.
Too many mods are the solution to issues inside this "simulation" since SH3.
This don't appear to represent a developer interest in the community work.
Still looks like a competition...

I agree that it appears to be a new direction, and that many of the old problems still exist. But I suppose they were trying to do something a little different, rather than produce essentially the same game, with a 5 tacked on the end.
The full interior was definitely a step forward; one of the things I always disliked about the previous titles was being rooted to the spot, with only two compartments and the tower available to me. Being able to interact with your crew was also a step forward, it gives the game some added life, but is at this time far too basic and has issues. A step back would be the attempt (in some respects) to appeal to a broader market, and the removal of key features of the previous games (which mods are re-adding thankfully).
Overall, I would say that while they have nailed some features, they have botched others. This needs some serious attention if they are to keep their fan-base from defecting elsewhere, not to mention the bad press all round.

What makes me somewhat "angry" is that most of those things missing were already in.
I'm not talking like: "it would be great if they had put this in, or this one or implement that thing i saw on another game" and so on...
Most of the stuff everyone and not just me is pointing out were things already in every download link of the community since SH3. This makes me believe that they haven't had a look at these pages in 5 years.
How many times we've seen the same mods ?
I still have hope surely, and this patch that includes many community fixes, is a good step forward, but i'd like to see some real stuff like the already present TypeII in a patch in the next months, and not as DLC...
