Hi ya folks,
I have done some searches but was unable to find what I need, so I hope someone can help.
I would like to be able to know my course being sailed by a quick glance at the compass and accurately change my course by clicking a new heading, I am using the stock sh3 and the compass is woefully inadequate for both of these tasks. I know you can work around it with the periscope/uzo "=" key but a bigger usable compass would be better.
I did find a thread with a post linking to a bigger compass but the link was dead.
I enjoy reading the forum and am amazed at the knowledge about the game on here for novices like myself to glean, so I feel sure someone knows what I mean,
thanks,
Bert.
Make a search for "My favourite dials" or "Simfeeling dials"
If your computer can run NYGM3 (Less demanding on computer power), GWX3 (More demanding) or WAC (Most demanding IIRC), don't bother continuing playing with the stock game, download your preferred supermod and enjoy the bigger compass and lots of more things.

I would recommend GWX as it has a great, big slide-out compass in the lower right of the screen that makes setting a new course so much easier!

Hitmans correct.....depending on your computer specs, try each supermod and choose which one suits your requirements best.

Thanks for your replies,
it would seem then, that I am about ready for an upgrade, when I have a few minutes I will read some of the threads about the mods and have a go at installing some,
thanks again
Bert.

This mod has the largest compass that I'm aware of:

Didn't know that... is it a stand-alone?
Off topic but I just noticed today that I've read ALL the threads in the SH3 section. Is there some kind of award for that? :haha:

I really do love that compass... with all the others I feel like I'm ordering, "Helmsman! Bring 'er around to somewhere in the neighborhood of west, or thereabouts!"

Exactly, I loaded up the stock game the other day and realized just how much a difference there is.
