Wow! Just finished this game...have to say (and it's a big call) it's probably the best game i've played for a long time.....
My reasons for best award (imho):

Graphics
Immersion
AI
General flow of game
Combat
Controls
Stability

Anyone else?

Edit: must admit, the ending was lacklustre.

Meh.

Meh.

And it's meh because?
I'm not protectionist about this game or my opinions, however some more substance to the meh would be welcome.

:rock:I'm not into comic books or super heros or anything... but this game was AWESOME.

I started playing through it again recently and its just as good as I remember it being. Still fun even though its probably my 5th or 6th run through.

Still on my "might like" list. Waiting for nice Steam deal, like €10,- or something. :hmmm:

Got it on release day, and loved playing through it. The Scarecrow part's are awesome as hell.

My only gripes with it, are spoilers so skip the next two lines if you don't want to be spoiled.

1. The CROC battle was super hyped, you were waiting for it and expecting it, you get to it and it equates to walking slowly over the planks and then bateraning croc anytime he jumps out.

2. The ending was luck luster, but that's partially because its set up in a Comic book way, where the bad guys always get caught, and it sets up for the next story.

3. Most of the boss battles equate to, fight through Bosses horde of minions, win battles. Or fight through minions, trick boss into running into wall repeatedly (a very old school tactic) and then win. Although I thought the Bane's battle was pretty wicked. And Poison Ivy's reminded me of a Zelda game.

All in all I loved it though, you actually feel like a bad ass while playing, especially with the combo system.

Highly expecting number 2.

Yahtzee (Zero Punctuation) covered my thoughts on the game pretty nicely.

Highly expecting number 2.

Absolutely....although Wraner Bros has dropped Eidos for the sequel, Rocksteady is doing this one up and they don't have a great deal of experience with games :-?

Eidos published, Rocksteady developed. ;)

Eidos doesn't exist anymore, it was bought by Square Enix.
Eidos is not publishing anymore games....not under Eidos anyways,
WB has dropped Eidos for sequel:

Uhm... what? Yeah, Eidos have been snapped up by SE, but you said Rocksteady doesn't have much experience, while it is them that made the game in the first place.

not being arguementative, yea they were involved...to a certain extent, Eidos had the reigns though.
The word is that the chief designers (from Eidos) will be again working on the sequel.

Edit: sorry, maybe we have our wires crossed lol, i was referring to the sequel and who would be involved not no 1.

I just ment to say Rocksteady is the studio that actually made the first one, I'd trust them to make a decent sequel, whether Eidos is in the loop or not. ;)

all good....

Either way, it should be a good one...
Arkham Asylum setting will be taken over by Gotham City
or so the word is...

:hmmm:

Wonder if that means more open environment, and if so, how that will affect the gameplay. Stealth in particular.

Holy Unknown Secret Room batman!

Apparently there is a hidden room in Arkham Asylum that has some information about Arkham City. It's in Warden Quincy's office.

Here's the walkthrough for it if you cant find it, or haven't found it:

According to some article I had read it took people 6 months to realize it existed.
