I've downloaded this mod and i don't really understand what i need to do with the files. I know they go into the main SH3 directory under data/library but its the readme file that confuses me, plus it's not the best English.

"These optional files needs to be correctly renamed first, then they will replace the ones on your data\library folder:
1.LifeBoat1_crew_standman.dat ==> LifeBoat1_crew.dat (do will have also an animated man standing on LB1).
2.debris_no_bodies&Rowboat.dat ===> debris.dat (no dead bodies and no rowboat debris - sometimes those row boats appears to much)"

I have no idea what is meant by this. The mod folder has all the files named above so what's to rename?

The optional files are just that, optional. They are possible replacements for two of the files already in the mod, and would make small changes if used.

For instance if you wanted to use the second one to eliminate the appearance of dead bodies and rowboat debris in the water, you would rename it "debris.dat" and copy it to the mod's data/Library folder (before enabling the mod) where it would overwrite the one that's already there and make the noted changes to the mod's behavior once you do enable it.

If you just want to try the mod "as is," don't do anything with the optional files, just enable the mod with the default files already in its data folder.

Oh I see, so is this mod compatible with JSGME? That way i'm not putting it directly in the main directory and would be easy to disable if i came across a problem.

Yes it is! The structure should be ''lifeboats and debris/data/...''. Go ahead.;)

Oh absolutely use JSGME, that way if something goes wacky you can disable it and no harm done. MUCH easier.

The first optional mod has a man standing up and waving his arms in a life boat.:shucks:

One of these days I'll get time to finish the new animations.
They are higher detailed models with improved motions.
