retail DVD Version
I have an Internet connection and I am connected.
During installation, it didn't request the install keycode.:06:
When I try to launch the game, I get this error message:
"An Internet connection is required to play this game. Failed to connect to the Ubisoft master servers. Please verify that your Internet connection is functional and try again."
I disabled the firewall and launch the game, it failed again!:damn:
what's wrong?

Can you look into Program Files (or Program Files(x86)) \Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher
There's a number of txt log files over there that could provide information on errors encountered.

:o Please correct me but do you mean that as default SH5 installs to Program Files / Program Files (x86) folder? I thought that was not recommended.

Ok, a little comm. check.
Can you successfully ping these IP addresses:
1) 87.248.202.133

Hello,
or as UBI's eMail to me proposed:
"Did you plug in your internet connection ?"
:dead:
I guess i will listen to SH3's BDU command:
"Be more agressive! "
towards UBI.
Greetings,

I had a simular problem,I was able to connect to internet no problem but couldn't connect to UBI server, turns out my Motorola SB900 Cable Modem/Wireless Router combo had a blocked port that I couldn't get past.I've changed it out and I'm able to connect without any issues.

OK, thanks for that.
What OS are you using?
Check again if the firewall isn't blocking some ports.
(I've seen cases after a third party firewall was disabled, the windows firewall took over).
For XP you can check it by looking at the LAN network properties settings (in the advanced tab).
For vista/windows 7, I don't know exactly where they have stored that setting.

Was that perhaps port 22406 you had to open?

Is the install keycode usefull?

I think you need it somewhere in the process of creating an UBI account (don't
have SH5 so I'm not sure where exactly you are being prompted for the key).
[EDIT]
Isn't there some kind of UBI detection tool installed to do some OS/hardware checks?
If yes, run it and let us know if there are warnings.

Once you've created an account with ubisoft, you have the option of associating games with it by entering the keycode. The game will not run before that's done.

OK, but before that you need to be able to connect to the UBI server.
As far as the info provided, he isn't able to do so.

I 've visited Ubisoft website, and registered the game(I think so). But,no install keycode required!:06:
How can I create an account with ubisoft correctly?

Well you can create an account at UBI even without owning the sim, but as far as registering SH5 proper, that has to be done upon it's first time launch I beleive. At least thats how I did this, and was prompted to do so during the launch, though I dont remember excatly at what point.
But I had already created and account at UBIsoft even before installing the game, so upon install and subsequent starting up the first time I looged in and check the "remember me" box and then I think it was after this that I was prompted to register SH5 and the keycode was then required.
But as I read your results here, you'll have to resolve your network coonection issues before this can take place. And when it comes to connection problems they can be due to many causes, and I'd get in touch with UBI support on this. They can walk you though the tests and procedures to see what is the problem. And trust me they will help, I've delt with them on the phone myself and they will help you even with things that are not related to the software itself but of your computer, and your network configuration.
