Hey F:salute:ellow Skippers,

It's my first post and If I posted in the wrong section I do apologize.

Just a few questions that keep troubling me-

How to use the magnetic detonator in SH4?

Is the depth knob sensitive to millimeter movements? I mean U gotta know that turning it slowly can produce fraction values for depths??

I saw this and I think techies here could help me out

I usually fire a fish at the draft +/- 1 meter 'safety'

when one hits I record it in my logbook ;)

I rarely use the magnetic detonator. It causes way too many problems. I may use it on a "Down the throat" shot to improve my chances of at least damaging a closing destroyer.

I remember in Silent Service 2 firing all 10 torpedo tubes at the broadside of a freighter in training and it only damaged it. Also with the Mark 14's I tend to set them shallow as they can go too deep and pass right under the target.

The default magnetic detonation range for the Mark 14 is 2 meters. However, depending on the mod, the magnetic detonator may not go off due to the torpedo running too deep, having the magnetic detonation range set more narrow, etc.

And yes, the depth knob can make very small adjustments in depth.
