Hi all! (My first post in these forums :D)
I have SH4 and would like to add the mods, but I have no clue which ones are recent (so as not to put an older version when theres a new one) or what order to install them in... I'm not too knowledgeable with "modder's language" either...
Could someone help me out with a suggested mod list and the order to install them in? atm, i have SH4 1.4 with no mods, using vista.
If I'm not mistaken, did I actually see mods to play as surface ships??? O.o
Anyways, thanks to whoever helps!
Edit: O boy... gonna have to change that avatar...
Hi and welcome to the forums. :)
Before installing any mods I would recommend getting the U-Boat missions add-on which will bring the game to version v1.5. Because all super mods are now based on that version of the game. You can find mods for v1.4, but they are few of them, or earlier versions of current supermods.
What would you like to play, fleet boats or U-boats?

ah... i was wondering what the 1.5 version was...
I actually like both, but i prefer fleets. (An aircraft carrier mod that lets me control planes would be awesome!)

Hehe, there just might be a mod which enables aircraft carrier control but I seriously doubt about aircrafts. Try FOTRS supermod if you're into driving big ships. I think... never played that one. :)
As for the fleet boats, there are two choices: TMO and RFB. TMO is much harder while RFB focuses on strict realism. Then there is RSRDC supermod, which comes in different versions, to make it compatible with both TMO and RFB.
Have you looked here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=155786)?
If not, it is the best place to start.

Yes because I did look there and couldnt understand anything so didnt continue.
No because i just discovered the default layout of posts was newest to oldest, and thus the giberish... i just changed that option now :)
PS. How do I change my avatar??? It's the only option i couldnt find in the User CP...

WELCOME ABOARD!:sunny:
The 1.5 patch also does some extra cleanup, so a lot of mods created specifically for it won't work if you don't have it. This includes the latest versions of all the supermods.

Cool!
Ill start by at least trying the 1.4 versions, and see from there.
Thanks for your guy's help!

The 1.5 update is very good. Makes the program run better, it seems.
The avatar is 'assigned' and can be personalized if you donate to the site, in my understanding.
