Has anybody completed all "Mare Nostrum" objectives?
I completed all tonnage objectives but can't find neither "Force H" (Gibraltar), "Force K" (the two carriers) or "Force A" (Crete area).
The only bigger ships I encountered in the "Force H" area on the map were some cruisers which I sank, but sadly they were not the objective.
Did anybody have more luck finding them?

Ok, I finally found one BB of "Force H" , a Royal Sovereign ...

Doh!
The map marker is wayyy off :damn:
Now where is the second BB?

Should be in the same area i guess.
Does anybody know where to find the aircraft carrier? An area already has been marked, but knowing SH, it's probably off by a couple hundred of kilometers.

Ha! Found the second BB (a Queen Elizabeth class) just a bit south of the first one a few days later. And guess what? There were three carriers in the same taskforce too, who turned out to be the ones form the Malta supply quest ... erm ... objective.
Got the BB and two of the carriers and thereby finished two objectives with one attack :D :
http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/2550/forceh3.jpg
Now to find the "Taskforce A" ....
I've finished all the tonnages too.
I got one BB from Task force A by accident very early on. I was actually just strolling through the area to get to the far east objective area and ran into em.
Still haven't found the other 3 BB's and 2 CV's yet. It's still quite early in the campaign. Im near the end of May.

One BB and two carriers... :damn:
I kinda feel like bashing my head repeatedly against a brick wall rather than think about how they designed this joke of a "sim".

The remark on physical violence aside, what would you have liked? To have the campaign won after two merchants sunk?
Note that you DON'T have to accomplish the strategic goals in order to play the game. But if you do accomplish one they might change the campaign on the strategic level.
They are, after all, strategic goals. Accomplish enough of them and it may count as a Victory for your side.

I suspect Darkseed might be making a comment on the general idea of a single commander sinking several BBs and carriers, not to mention the total general tonnage. They are, from a history perspective, way over the top. People are reporting totals in the millions, which might satisfy those of a 'yippee shoot' mind, but it's disturbing to those with even a cursory eye on 'realism'.
As an aside, the "punching" comment was somewhat uncalled for.....

You nailed it. The comment about the punching wasn't meant to be taken literally. Just somehow trying to put my disappointment with how they designed this game into words, but I'll edit it.

Can't find force h either. mind you took look at their mission file in mission editor, i know there path they will travel (still no luck) but there jump out into see time and patrol is random so it's simply when the trigger wants to, and if ure spotted by enemy air craft don't expect to see them.
oww and was spotted by aircraft and he bombed me, well missed tho, by just a little bit, and shot him outa the sky. first time tried to be bombed in the game, was awsome
This reminds me of SHIII vanilla's Tanker Alley. Once you found it, all you had to do was stay in one place and watch the tankers parade in front of your scope like ducks in an arcade shoot.
Exciting stuff
BigBoyWoolly fixed that in GWX :wah:

Hey i know you posted the location of taskforce A but i was wondering if you could give a slightly larger search area as i seem to have a hard time finding the two battleships and its into mid September

The yellow circle area is where that Force H is supposed to spawn. The three little brown squares with X's are the nearest nodes to that area.
Other people have reported finding it just north of the yellow circle, so south of the larger of three islands there along the route.

I think the overall idea is quite good. Maybe from what I read the merchant tonnages are a bit high in a few of those tasks ("missions", but that sounds "scripted", so maybe "tasks"?). I assume if you complete all those objectes and sink 3BB and 2CV in the Med AO, that this would change the course of the war in africa?
If so, then the only "mishap" is that players assume that they can really typically achieve that. Of course any real U-Boat commander and Doenitz himself might have dreamed of exactly that outcome. But it just didn't happen.
Maybe you should have communicated in the manual or in game description that the campaign goals are "ultimate", and not as most people think are average minimum achievements. And that on realistic levels one maybe should only be expected to succeed on ~50% of the tasks for a historical outcome, and the you still can happily continue your campaigns!?

How about the 2 aircraft carriers? Thanks a lot!
I've search the aircraft carriers along the Gibraltar <-> Malta supply route for over 6 hours and still not a single aircraft carrier appear. I met several task forces along the route but none of them got a aircraft carrier with them. The only aircraft carrier the game spawn in this campaign so far was in the port of Gibraltar, now I'm looking the other one.

I finished all the objectives and sank 1 of the carriers. Now i need to sink the other one and i cant find them. Usually they sail with force H but that objective is gone. Where can i find them? I checked gibraltat but nothing there.

Ok got the carriers. But how the hell am i gonna get the 50.000 tons that also comes with the sink carrier objectives? I never find any merchants in the operational area!

Anyone please?
Is the 50k Tonnage for Malta? If so just sail to Malta and sink the merchants in port. Still counts for the tonnage. Sank 3 troop transports and 1 cimmaron tanker and objective completed
I didn't finish it so I changed the save files to say I did

The Task Force "A" IS in the ring as the game shows. I stressed that because someone here said it's not there no matter one search for it. I found two battleships, one Elizabeth class and one Royal Sovereign class.
The task force was exactly in the center of it, there I did meet it. I can't found the carriers, it's the only semi-objective I missed so far in this third campaign. Does anyone know where the carriers spawn ? Someone said that it is with task Force H but it;s not so far. Force H had no carriers within.
And odd, after 90% of the campaign done, merchant ships started to appear across mediterana sea.
UPDATE
Giving up to search for carriers I don't know why, but I went to Gibraltar and....there was a ...carrier in the port. I sunk it but suprisingly it didn't count for the mission. I said to myself that maybe you have to bring it down when it is on the move patrolling so I decided to load last save which was made AFTER I sunk the carrier (20 minutes after I think). After I reloaded the save...there was another carrier, Royal Ark, which was on the move with escort, somewhere behind me. I was suprised about that and I manouvered the ship to get out of the port but a destroyer came and made things complicated and I missed the carrier. After escaping I searched for it in front of me at full surface speed but it wasn't there anymore. I didn't discouraged and I reloaded again the save. The Royal Ark carrier was there, again , on the move , with escort, getting out of the harbor. This time I decided to watch it to see what it is doing but...the carrier disappeared, in front of my eyes, (as when an image is fading kindda) with all its escort !!! lloll
Everytime I reloaded the save, the story repeated itself....That one is hard to take, to see the carrier on the move and not beeing able to shoot a single torpedo to it! ...loool
I'll think to something else...meanwhile.
By the way, the date , if it counts for anything, was 6th of may.
UPDATE 2
I manage , somehow , to achieve the objective cheating a little to sink those two carriers. I met one in Gibraltar but that didn't count. After reloading another one appeared, Royal Ark, I sunk it and this time I was right on the money. I reloaded after that and There were two carriers, which, by the way, bumped one into each other in a funny way, the "mixed" carrier formed from those two looked like a modern carrier with two platforms...lol
A few words about A.I..I played SH3 and SH4 , AI was tough there(especially SH3), but in SH5 they are pathetic, I was in Gibraltar harbor chasing and torpedoing the carriers and the ten destroyers from the harbor couldn't get me (I was moving with max speed submerged) and they just made one pass , throw some barrles and they sat doing nothing...What the hell is with these people from UBISOFT ? They made the AI for SH3 and SH4 , too so that was , at least , supposed to work here, right?
I have an idea why the Ai is so dumb. part of the problme is that the game is not finished I think and the other haf, I think there is one idiot there at UBI which thought: "guys ...lets' get more money with this, but we cant' from hard core simmers, because they are a constant number, let's take from casual ones....so let's make the game to ...look like a sim, so any noobie could win the game. Correct me if I'm wrong...:grin

Thats not the *Battle of the Atlantic* a 5 year tonnage tussle primarily against merchant shipping with progresively smarter escorts untill the arrival of the hunter killer groups changing tactics technology upgrades and intellegence code cracking are all part of that formula!

ive decided to revive this thread, as it has helped me and many other people, and i also need help about force K not H. does force k consist of a light cruiser and i destroyer, or do u just have to sink 1 cruiser and 1 destroyer. and whats the best out of the 3 circles to find them in?

Found Force K task group between the two right-most circles and sunk two class 'Dido Light Cruisers' soon after, objective showed 50% completion. Next, proceeded to sink a few destroyers A Class, Tribal and VW and had no effect on the objective completion .... still at 50%. I wonder if the 'Kent' heavy cruisers are the ones that need to be sunk ... any ideas?

Hi guys! I'm kinda new to this series and i need serious help. I'm now progressing through the mare nostrum campaign. I completed all objectives but what's killing me is when i completed the other objectives and halfway for the Force A, I docked and requested that mission and recieved a new patrol position. So I headed there and fortunately/or not encountered the Force A patrol before reaching the patrol zone. I sank the capital ship, but instead of ending the whole campaign as usual, nothing happened. So I tried completing the patrol and heading back to base to see if it happens the same way after the tutorial but nothing AT ALL. I'm stuck! The deadline for the whole campaign is Dec 1st i guess and i'm now on August 2nd. I'll try to post some pics if you want. Pls help!

THe 2 battleships for force H are 100 km south of mission objective circle whit theyr escort of destroyers.I also found 1 carrier in the middle of the big circle for mission MALTA in July. The transport ships for mission Malta are docked at at the port of Malta and the tonnage is enought for mission objective.I still search for the 2 nd carrier and 2 Battleships from force A.I'll post when find them.I think that ships for objectives appear randomly and you only have to travel from one objective circle to another until you encounter them.

Good Job.
I found that it helps if you use the soundman's Reveal Hidden Enemies ability,
and if you hang around Gibraltar of Alexandria for the BBs
I found 2 carriers and a battleship 320km East of Gibraltar in the first few days of may. They weren't in the red marked area. Still looking for another battleship.

Hi all ,
I can not find my last carrier to complete this mission . Can anyone help me or give me tips please ? I am in date August 5 1941 , According to history an aircraft carrier going to Malta was sunk on August 11 1941 but i don't know if the game is built on the exact dates etc
I must have, because I completed Mare Nostrum (But I can't remember how). Still, at least it proves it's "do able". Sorry I can't be of any more help. (All in all, a pretty useless post this isn't it lol.)

No, but it was getting near the end I think. I was starting to panic about the date.

That's what i am doing to tell you the truth , because only 1 carrier is left and the mission will be complete
I always save by dates throughout the game. Then if things haven't worked out, I can go back a couple of weeks.

Already sunk 2 Kent cruisers and 1 Queen Elizabeth battleship, but they were outside of "Force H" and "Mediterranean Fleet" objective zones so they didn't count... Sad enough. I think I've already crippled the British Mediterranean fleet, but the game don't thnks so.
