Showing SH5 to my 10 year old today and conducted a convoy attack. Ordered one of my crew members to do something and the crewman says, "No". I was stunned but tried to shrug it off and went back to the periscope. Then my son says, "Dad, did your crew just tell you no? I thought you were supposed to be the Captain in this simulator? Is something wrong with it?"

Oh boy.

Would somebody at BDU / UBI please fix the broken moral system? Soon? I can have their morale at a fevered SS / Hitler Youth rally status (..........) and then re-load the game and then they are ready to mutiny ( ).

:rotfl2: I'd throw my crewman over the side if he refused an order like that!

Are you using the "no morale" mod? It fixes that problem. And it's supposed to be addressed in the upcoming patch.

I'm using the mod and it still appears to be doing it. Mainly the engineer when you ask him to repair damaged systems and the bosun when you ask him to propaganda

Really? I haven't used those skills yet - I figure the propaganda skill was made redundant by the mod removing morale, so I never used it. And I've been lucky enough not to have anything destroyed to have to use the repair skill.

He said, "no", SteamWake. It's the first time for me too. I've gotten the "Can't comply" response before. But this one was just - no. And it was the Bosun. SOB - in my face and then no. I felt like going to my quarters for my pistol, let me tell you. Who'd have thought it of him? Shameful.

The trick is to say 'no' to SH5 before it says 'no' to you.

We need a "Improve crew morale with Lugar" patch. I had Dieter standing on the hatch and I could not open it to dive!

That's nothing, once the hatch closed on me while I was halfway down it. I had ordered dive, the hatch just shut on me, and my viewpoint was still above the hatch. I couldn't move, and then the boat started diving, so I had water lapping over my head... luckily I could get it back open eventually.

That sure is embarassing in front of your son.

You should sue UBisoft over that. The game is training children to disobey orders!! Achtung!! :-)

I had that happen too but we were surfacing. Couldn't get out of the hatch. Even Shift U didn't work.

Now I wait until the surfacing symbol is 100% complete.
