hi, i was able to completed the tutorial but after that i cant seem to complete a mission... no matter how many ships i sink i can never get *past* 25k tons (used the lite campaign mod) and i know ive sunk more than that :shifty:. i started a new campaign and skipped the tutorial and still cant pass it. i have a legit copy and is there anyway to fix/bypass/mod this? any help would be appreciated :salute:

ill reinstall it tomorrow c if that works :-?

Where are you sinking the ships? They need to be in that general area to count. They also can't be German. :) (Nearly sunk a German tanker myself in the Channel just now... eep!)

Well I dont know, but I seem to be in the same boat as some others here on this cant complete mission thing too now. It's this coastal waters mission, first official patrol. Got the bar full on the mission button, I've sunk 13 ships for 99,000 somethin tons and still says incomplete and BDu just keeps sending back the same thing when I send status report.
Continue X operation.
Now we are empty of ammo again, and well im without a clue.
Geuss we are heading back to port, nothing else to do out here.
Maybe when we get back thats when it will say complete?

The radio message won't do anything really. And if the bar has like || that much left at the end, it's really full. Head back to your current base (probably Wilhelmshaven, near Bremen) and End Patrol, see if it's not counted as complete then. Missions can be completed across patrols.

Yep thats what it has to be, just go home. Cause the mission only called for 50,000 tons and I got double that, and yeah they were all in the right area alright. Heh, yeah I hit the mother lode tonight. Caught a really huge convoy in verrrry rough sea. So rough the sound guy was who found them, and we were on the surface! Yeah, the bow was under water so much of the time you could get sound contacts when surfaced.

I sank half the convoy, and three of'em with the deck gun, yeah thats right deck gun ops in rough seas. I couldnt believe it. I just tried it to see and dang if they went and manned the gun and fire away. They missed a bunch, but hit more often that I thought possible in that sea.:o

Ahhh, never mind. It just took a little while for the order to go through. Just got my return to port orders.
Ahhh, the crew is happy. Even the WO had something different to say now.

The message will not change when you click the icon in the area you patrol
If you have sunk enough tonnage and you are in base talking to the officer there
if you click the icon on his mission map it will say how much tonnage you need
to complete the mission But NO request mission button will be shown.
this means it is completed also if you look at your own map when on your sub
the Total Germany instruction /Information showing in the top left hand corner
will show a filled in cross as shown in the screen shot above this also means
that the British costal waters mission is complete.
so sail around the British isle and start the second part :salute:

When clicking on the round icon with the iron cross in it, a box appears that has a white bar at the bottom, when that is full you have fulfilled the mission. But it will be sometime later that the radio message to cease all operations and return to base will come.
My return order didn't come till I had just almost reached the second waypoint you see in this shot over to the right on the map, which also shows the mission icon opened up and the white bar full.

Is it just me or does that bar never really fill up? It gets to like 99%

SabreHawk
03-23-10, 07:14 PM
I thought the same thing, but upon looking at it closer both ends of the bar have a tiny bit that looks like there's a bit left but not so apparently.

If you copy that image I posted, then open it with picture and fax view and zoom in close you can see this.
And once that return to base message comes, you can see also the iron cross in the mission box in the upper left corner of the map have turned white. And in the overall campaign portion you see that the first two crosses have turned white indicating the first two missions are complete.

So those iron croses at the top represent your overall progress in the campaign?

Okay got it...

see your cross coloured in on the display in top left of map under "british coastal waters" you have completed the mission either return to base and finish patrol or start the other mission (you don't have to request it in the mission briefing you can just do it).

Isn't that a "pirate trap"? One of the "bugs" the devs left in for those that run a cracked copy of the game?

If the progress bar not fill, is a pirated version and is nothing more to talk about here.

No it's not. I also own a legit copy and have the exact same problem. When starting or loading a campaign, the "internet experiences problems" message comes up and never goes away. Having bought this game 40€ (well ok, 39,99) in the first days after release, i gotta say i'd be glad if i could enjoy the campaign mode. Seems i'm more likely on the way to refund/overhauling...

well i can show you my game box...dvd..and sales recibt...so...
i think its some other glitch or you just have to sink the right ships...even though they're not marked

Are these the areas you are sinking ships in if you choose the east coast ?

see your cross coloured in on the display in top left of map under "british coastal waters" you have completed the mission either return to base and finish patrol or start the other mission (you don't have to request it in the mission briefing you can just do it).

So your saying then to play the "british supplies mission" next then return to port??? As i've played the british coastal waters mission, sunk over 79,000 tons (12 ships or more) states under mission patrol log "mission complete" head back to wilhelmshaven & dock my boat, the little gold anchor shows up up in the right hand corner, i click on it & choose "end patrol" but yet patrol "DOESN"T END"??? whats up with that? now i'm almost certain that all my kills were within the red line of the british coastal patrol mission, so i don't understand why the mission isn't ending??? [EDIT] Now that i think of it, i did sink 1 british cargo ship otw to the red line area, it was a lil further out to the east, maybe this may have made the mission uncompleted? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1:damn::damn::damn:

Every campaign has multiple missions and every mission end at a certain date. The progress bar, filled or not, will stay on map until the mission end date. So if one of your mission is done and has the progress bar filled, take another mission or just wait a bit until another mission will pop up on map.

Currently I'm stuck at the campaign 'Battle Of The Mediterranean', I don't know which targets the game asked.

For 'Siege Of Malta', it required sink 100000 tons of supplies for Malta, supplies means tanker/the one transported war materials such as tanks?

For 'Rommel's Supplies', it said 500000 tons of supplies must reach Lybian bases, I guess is to protect the friendly merchants to reach Lybyen ports, am I right? But how?

For 'Fortress Gibraltar', it required sink 1 AC and sink 5 Force H destroyers, what does a destroyer look like?

Thanks!

For the record.... No. This is not a sign of PIRATED copy. The bar never looks full, just look for the cross being filled in on your map (upper left) as others have stated.

I have a legit copy as well (bought at release ...silly me) and my bar looks like 95% full, but cross is filled.

This is something I've not experienced till now.

I've been installing mods and have started the campaign over 3 or 4 times now. I have made it to happy times once before. I'm finished with "Total Germany" and it's only January of 1940. All my crosses are filled at the very top, minus one. All my mission progress bars are filled.

Can I not progress to the next part of the campaign until after the March or June deadlines or is it bugged an I have to start over again? Thanks for any clarification.

This Tutorial will show how and where to make the manual entries so that your Tonnage Bar is continually updated after each game play session.

Your Tonnage Total can be found in your Captains Log.

The total number of ships sunk in a current game session can either be counted from the Destroyed Marks in your Navigation Map or subtracted from any previous total showing in your Captains Log.

Follow the numbers >

1. My Documents folder.

2. SH5 folder.

3. data folder.

4. cfg folder.

5. SaveGames folder < Send a short cut of this folder to your desk top so you can update the Campaign CFG file easily each time you play.

6. Find your last game save by looking for the latest Date and Time.

0000000f 02/02/2015 File folder < This example is only good for the last game session finished.

When the next game session is finished a new number is added to the SaveGames folder.

7. Campaign-2014-10-22-2016 folder < The folder showing is for the first Campaign in Silent Hunter 5 > Total Germany.

8. Campaign CFG < Update this file.

Scroll down through the Campaign data and look for the patrol that you are doing.

You are only interested in the 2 blocks of data below.

To confirm these blocks are Amount and CrtAmount.

Amount is the objective totals of either Tonnage or the Number Of Ships.

CrtAmount is used to record your actual totals of Tonnage or Ships sunk to date.

It is the data that is entered in CrtAmount that moves the Tonnage Bar forwards.

These 2 blocks below are for Tonnage amounts.

[Campaign.CampObj.MacroObj 5.PersObj 1.Amount]

IsTonnage=true < True means it is looking at tonnage amounts.

Tonnage=70000 < This tonnage or a larger total in CrtAmount completes the patrol objective.

NumOfShips=0 < 0 means it is not looking for the number of ships sunk.

[Campaign.CampObj.MacroObj 5.PersObj 1.CrtAmount] < Always look for this CrtAmount.

IsTonnage=false < This will show as false.

Tonnage=33056 < This is where you enter your totals sunk from your Captains Log.

NumOfShips=0 < Not used when tonnage Amount shows True.

These 2 blocks below are for the number of ships that need to be sunk.

[Campaign.CampObj.MacroObj 2.PersObj 2.Amount]

IsTonnage=false < Tonnage will show false because it is the number of ships that need to be sunk.

Tonnage=0 < This will show as 0.

NumOfShips=2 < This is the number of ships or larger total showing in CrtAmount that completes the patrol objective.

[Campaign.CampObj.MacroObj 2.PersObj 2.CrtAmount]

IsTonnage=false < This will show as false as it is ships required.

Tonnage=0 < Tonnage is 0 because it is the number of ships that need to be sunk.

NumOfShips=0 < This is where you enter manually the number of ships you have sunk.

No ships sunk yet so 0 is showing.

Every time you change the CrtAmount you will see your Tonnage Bar increase.

After you exit your game session each time go to your Desk Top shortcut (5) and follow the numbers (6) then (7) and enter a new total in (8).

When you have finished entering your data in (8) >

Go to File.

Go to Save.

This needs to be done every time data is updated manually.

Whether the tonnage bar starts working again or not does not matter anymore as you will have complete control.

The Captalns Log will always confirm the totals that need to be entered.

Obviously if the Tonnage Bar starts to work during one of your game sessions, check and make sure that your recorded data agrees with your Captain’s Log.

Courtesy acknowledgement to Mikael Landerlund.

Missions are date controlled and come on and drop off the Navigation Map automatically regardless of your situation.

It is not necessary to select any Missions from the Flotilla Leader or Request Missions from the Navigation Map.

The Campaign Icon showing on the Navigation Map will tell, and show you, all you need to know.

You can end a Patrol each time you have to return to your base to re-supply.

Start the same Mission again through the Flotilla Leader.

Go the Flotilla Leader.

What are my mission orders?

Do not select number 1.

Select number 2.

Let’s start the new patrol.

Are you sure you want to start the new patrol without choosing a mission?

Select number 1. Yes. (As you already in the mission)

If you want to upgrade your boat and use any of already earned renown then do this before going to the Flotilla Leader.

No, cause I bought the game and at first everything worked great I sank ships and my progress was shown now I am in the Mediterranean and needs to sink only one ship I have sank like 5 ships already and the bar stays the same. All of them I sank with in specific area.
