Some help please, im sort of stuck.

Ok so ive completed my first mission, all torps expended and only 10 rounds left in the cannon. I decide to head back to base (Keil), ive arrived there but cannot dock or end my mission, there is no little symbol to click so i can dock or refit or anything. Most fustrated now, anyone hae any ideas on how to end my mission? ive done well ive sank 72k tonnes of shipping :) so want to end this mission properly. Thanks for the help.

That sounds a little weird, not had it happen to me so I'm not sure I can help you.

Have you tried saving the game and then reloading? That normally sorts out bugs for me.

Other than that , consider this a free bump and hopefully someone will be along to help you out.

check your chart, maybe your homebase has changed, eg. from Kiel to Wilhelmshaven during your mission ? Only an idea ..

yeah tried the whole reloading thing and still nothing, sorta pissing me off now, i can see me having to start again if i cant fix it :(

Catfish has a really good point - Have you check to see if your base has moved?

I read somewhere in this forum that BDU has a habit of moving your base and not telling you. Zoom out on the map and look for a submarine icon. That will be where your base is.

first save then reload the game, that usually fixes things

your home base is that extra image on the screen (its a sub image i think not the anchor) so you may only be able to refit then go to your home base wherever it moved to.

Yes I've just finished first mission and returned to Kiel, symbol came up though and I docked/ refitted w.h.y.

Started out again then realised I was proceeding to sea from Wilmhelmhaven...no one thought to tell me!

Had hell of a game getting out the harbour, some idiot merchie trying to ram me or what!

He ended up backing into the harbour wall and I gunned it flank all ahead outta there.

No time for distractions, me :D

Home base is keil the only one with a sub symbol, just tried again, reloaded game and savepoint, no way to dock/ refit, im most perplexed and somewhat annoyed

One idea I have come across for this sitn is to hit "shft Z "and toggle "U"------may have been UI

Yea sail close to your home port press shft+z twice and the anchor should appear.

For some real fun you can drive into the pen manually. You should then teleport to the dock (and watch your sub slam into the pen wall) :haha:

You can somehow issue commands for all stop but usually the momentum carries her on in and BANG.

The docking symbol seems to appear at diffenrent times each time I dock.

Once I had to alsomost be in the pen itself before it appeared.

The docking symbol appears when you are IN the harbor. Choose refit and head out again provided you're going to the harbor with the blue subdiamond.

Yes, two things to be aware of:

Always check where your small blue port symbol is. That's where you are supposed to go home. I also returned to Kiel and then the next mission began out of Wilhelmshaven. I guess Doenitz moved my sub while I was in the bar.

And it may be necessary to toggle the interface with Shift Z to get the anchor icon to appear. Here is a demonstration, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YwhLfe7Kzs&hd=1)the anchor never appeared until I was completely in the pen :) I hit Shift Z and it appeared.
