Shift base of operations

About a year ago I pick up SH4 Gold after taking a long break from SHIII. I played it a little and forgot it. Now that SH5 is out I became excited and interested again in subsims. Only to be greatly disappointed when reading the reviews on SH5.

This encourage me to read up on the SH4 mods. This weekend I started playing SH4 RFB_RSRD with Captain Midnights Radio. All I can say is...WOW! These mods are fantastic.

Anyway, here's my question. I received a message stating to shift my base of operations. Is this a general broadcast or specific to me? Because instead of going back to Pearl I went to the new assigned base. Yet I got no new instructions from there. So I still need to go back to Pearl?

Actually you don't need to change your base of operations. If you started off of Pearl, the message that you received is not meant for you, but for those operating from Manila and the Phillipines, because at this time of the war they are being overrun by the Japanese.
But, how did you change your base of operations? Did you just docked at the port or asked for a transfer? If it is the first one, you just had a refit and need to go back to Pearl to end the patrol. If you asked for a transfer, you'll have to start from the new base and go back there to end the mission as well.

No I didn't transfer. All I did is rearm. BTW I learned the hard way to close the tube doors otherwise the torps won't reload even at base. I'll hunt some more , shoot off this round and head back to Pearl.

Look for the tilted Anchor, that will be your home port. From Pearl, Midway becomes home port in June of 42 if I remember correctly.
