MOEF and Winston's Special

Hello, fellow Kapitaenleutenants!
I can't seem to intercept corvette and frigate patrols on the MOEF route. I sank 5 destroyers and now I'm wasting precious time patroling and hoping I'll run into one (I need 5). I've tried intercepting large task forces but they only consist of 9 destroyers in the outer ring and cruisers, battleships and carriers in the middle. I sank few destroyers in large merchant convoys hoping that maybe one of them will end up being a frigate/corvette, but still no luck. I know how a frigate/corvette should look like but it's quiet difficult to distinguish them from destroyers by periscope, if they're also in large merchant convoys.

I was also hoping some of you would help me out with intercepting troop transports on the Winston's supply line. What's the easiest way of doing that? They should be identified as warships on my map if I'm not mistaking?

Take a trip to Reykjavik Harbor.. theres usually 2-3 patrolling and 2-3 moored there

yes but how about winston's special?i completed both the gibraltar and the south comvoy's tasks but i never saw a troop carrier...is there a respawn location...or some clues about their location other then that line?

I sailed all the way down to cape horn in africa, couldnt find anything, no winston special, no cigars, nothing. Winston is gone :haha:

It's ok - the game will continue whether you meet the objectives or not. Just move on to the next mission or campaign.

For the corvette im sure there were 2 in the centre of each taskforce group in the patrol area.

for that mission i got lucky...in a single task force i found 4 corvettes and one armed sloop the location was south of island...about 200 miles above the red line

As long as you have the renown to pay for the upgrades then you should get them when they become available.

For the WS, try searching for the southward convoy at the west of Cape Verde isles... Maybe, they have a number of troop transport you need... I found a convoy with 5 troop transport here...:o

akief!:Kaleun_Salute: I have also refueled at Dakar and by strict and judicious use of battery (submerged) and the '2 setting' on my 'jumbo' throttles, made my way all the way to Cape Town and intercepted the "express". Then made my way back to Dakar for a refit. :03:
