Well..we need your PC details also..otherwise it is wild guess...
Because if you have single core CPU then even minimum is too much and if you have quad then you can push a bit more then maximum... :yeah:

I have a DUO CORE 6750 2.66 - 4 gig of ram - gtx 285xxx - 27" razor sharp lcd monitor, Runs modo and solidworks no problems so no problems with sh5 runs silky smooth everything cranked up in menu settigs, thanks. :yeah:

Well then you can try to add some of the mods that are changing effects of explosions etc..check mods to the rescue thread..:03:

I have a boatload of mods, thanks guys for that but usually you can edit this cfg file to bump it up some, also not sure if the menu settings has actually bumped up everything possible, sometimes it doesn't and thought someone could give this a look, thanks.

With that system you can set everything to max no problem. But there are some FPS problems in the controlroom no matter how good card you have (needs optimizing), so you might want to turn shadows off which helps. Set anti-aliasing to 4x (3 notches to the right). I run everything on max with GTX285 in 1920x1200.

I wish you could have an option to automagically turn off shadows when you are in the sub and turn back on at the moment you peek outside.

Ragtag you mention "set antialiasing to the right 4x" antialisiang is not shown in this cfg file not sure what you are telling me to do ? thanks.
