View Full Version : How do I get an automatic solution?

Every time I fire a torpedo, it never steers true, always skewing off target. I'm playing hard settings (not realistic) and I lock the target a-la-triangle of death (which doesn't display in hard mode, apparently) but still I miss. Not shooting duds, just plain missing every shot in both medium and hard settings. What am I missing (besides tonnage)?

Also, I am missing the old TDC and the propulsion/steering control panel as in SH1-4. Are they in there and I just can't find them or have they been removed form the interface? I am tired of steering my boat using the map and the Numpad "." key.

Thanks.

I am sorry to tell you that the autotdc doesn`t work. It`s bugged and
will be patched i think.

You can better make manual measurements with the map etc...

Leave the automatic setting on.

DO NOT tell the WO to turn the TDC on.

1. Lock a target--Press space bar

2. Unlock the target--Press Space Bar again

3. Notice the torpedo path now aims ahead of the target. Point the periscope at the target where you wish the torpedo to hit.

4. Press the fire button.

Get this mod: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=163208

That restores the three dials and the TDC. Turn on manual targeting and forget AutoTDC ever existed. :)
