Early January, 1940 (Happy Times).

Only needed 1 more tanker to finish all the objectives for this campaign. So i set out, found a convoy. Spotted my prize in the middle row near the front.

I slipped in, and let loose 3 torpedos at close range. All hits. Down She Goes. Turn towards my next victim. Getting the TDC setup and about to take the shot when...

The campaign end screen comes up!!! Congratulions Major Victory. Ummm ok... can i go back to this convoy im attacking? Negative, im forced to pick the next campaign path (Mare Nostrum or Western Approaches). Ugh..

The hand of god just plucked me out of the sea and teleported me to a base in the mediterranean 2 and half months into the future.

Mega Lame. The time i spent getting there and getting setup all wasted.

:damn:

Atleast let me head back to base first! I was about ot put down some serious tonnage. No, im forced to go to the next "level". This IS a submarine simulation right? For a second there, i thought i just completed E1M1 of Doom.

The way they mix realism with absurd arcadiness surely must be up for some kind of prize..

Steer your sub into the underwater vortex to be taken to a room where you get to speed around and collect morale points!!!

I totally agree. I have real trouble understanding why they did it like this instead of ending it when reaching port. It's also incredible annoying that one can't chose the main campaign screen. It's only available when finishing a campaign. When you chose a campaign your stuck with it untill it's done. I really want to love this game but it has so many issues and flaws that i'm close to shelfing it.

Oooooo dynamic!

The campaign for SH5 is really starting to get scripted. Threads I'm reading make this sound like Blazing Angles but under water.
