According to Ubisoft they were supposedly headed out almost 2 weeks ago, and gee what a surprise I never heard boo from them after the announcement.
Not really that big of a shocker honestly...

Anyway, did anybody actually get an email?

If so, what did it say?

I've been checking my e mail daily and not heard a thing from them. To be honest I'm begining to wonder if the e mails only went to the AC2 owners.

Either way - no , not heard a dickie bird

Nope, I PM'd the forum mods and she said that was just an initial email and to keep looking for it. Blah. I'm still waiting for my "pre-order artwork".

Not a peep, and I own both SH5 and AC2.

Let me guess, hackers attacked their mail server?

I suppose one would have to have registered the game in order to receive an email from Ubisoft. :88)

I haven't bothered with it so far.

Hm, I vaguely recall having a webpage opening upon installing the game, but perhaps I remember wrong.

They know everything they need, since we're tied this OSP, right?

Really no reason why we shouldn't recieve any news.

Its a DLC that allows you to add pirate hats to your crew. But they vanish when you reload.

That's really funny and a bit scarey all in one :DL:o

Eh, hopefully they don't cost 2 moral points to cast.

Pirate hat: +5 to battery capacity

probably a DLC parrot on his shoulder for our pirate onboard and a optional wooden leg.

Hehe I got the exact response, guess they used copy/paste ALOT during the only-5%-got-affected-but-all-servers-were-down period :)

And, no pirate hats :arrgh!: or any other compensation, I can even accept a patch to fix the most critical bugs as compensation :yeah:

I got mine... it was an add-on life raft to strap to my conning tower to increase my chances of survival when my crew refuses to follow my orders to FIGHT!!! :haha:

I heard from reliable sources that you'll get, as gift from Ubisoft, "the special stew of the heroes", ability for the cook. :yep:

This stew gives to the crew, for a limited amount of time, the "fart of doom" power. A new option will allow the torpedoman to increase range and speed by specially recharging the air bottles of the G7a (steam torpedo). :o

But the most interesting feature of the "fart of doom" is the ability to have the type VII reach an underwater speed of 20 kts for half an hour, if you order half your crew to go to the toilet at the same time. Unfortunately, the CO2 inside the boat will increase at a much higher rate, so you should be careful to use this ability only in emergency situation. :hmmm:

Fortunately the fart of doom kan be enhanced with the christmas tree mod, CO2 gets absorbed and the rate of the buildup is halfed. Christmas spirit adds +1 moral all around, except for the cook who is allergic (instant 0 moral). Without his allergy medicin he will spin around like a true maniac and eventually loose all faith in the nazy regime and start to tap S-O-S during silent running and in the presence of DD commanded by Captain Walker.

This is all a very rare occurance and because christmas tree mod removal requires the cook to be in high sprits it will only get worse. The solution is the luger mod, shooting the cook for mutiny and then the captain will have to make soup atleast 4 times a day and he can thereafter remove the christmas trees manually if he so chooses (the trees will obstruct most compartments and sometimes even the attack periscope).

For more bugs, stay tuned as the beta fase continues...

But you forgot that the Luger MOD will either force people to follow your orders or lower their morale permanently to zero. Also, if you use your Luger too much there's a chance that mutiny will occour.

For saving throws against mutiny, roll 2D6 and subtract one point every 100t of ships sunk.

A bug, however causes the 9mm Luger to be substituted with a 17th century flintlock pistol, so careful when you intend to shot more people at once.
:arrgh!:

The reason we got offered a stupid snowballing game and AC2 players were offered war games was because SH5 is rated "12+" while AC2 was rated for "adults".

If this is the compensation email we're talking about here, then yeah, I got this one about a month ago. Not really interested in those games offered, though.

Well, I got that mail, too. Because the sender's email address looked suspicious (@email.ubi.com) I asked the webmaster at ubi.de for confirmation, that this is a valid ubi domain. He told me that this is not the case.

So maybe there are some real compensation mails out there, but beware. Since text and layout are out in the wild now, it will be very easy to fake that mail and get you to download nasty things or inserting private data.

Yeah, I got that mail. I wasn't interested in Prince of Persia so I told them to keep it and put more resources into the Silent Hunter series instead. Sadly, after the release of Patch 1.2, I think that's gonna be the end of the series, from Ubisoft anyway.
