Has anyone shot down an aircraft yet?

I've tried on a few occasions... but i never hit em.

I've shot down many in SH3/4, but can't seem to do it in SH5. You'd think it woiuld be easier seeing as how they dont shoot back in SH5.

I guess my aim sucks now.

Never had any attack me yet, but the one close fly by AI shot well under it and I of course couldn't do better. *coughspeedvideocough*

Funny you should ask. I spent all night doggedly shooting at anything that came into my airspace while on patrol...figured there was no harm since I never use the flak ammo and they never attack. Once one sees you, they'll all swing through to have a look, but evidently they're just curious and mean no harm...
Anyways, to answer your question, no, never hit a damn thing, try as I might...:-?

Recently made a mission and added a carrier group, to my surprise i was attacked by 2 american wildcats, i think they where, although my carrier was British, didnt shoot em down though. Strange but the attack cheered me up, :)

Planes fly over me from time to time...no attacks.

The enemy seems sleeping. I sunk a carrier - 8 escorts - no DC attack - they didnt even break formation :doh:

Hit one once, had it lead it by a good distance so much that I couldn't see it due to the sight on the flak gun blocking the view.
There was smoke and flames pouring out of it, but it never went down. Couldn't hit it again.
I picked up a convoy once and when i got up to periscope depth when were all in flames. There were 2 planes straffing them. Hadn't seen that before.

I shot down a Swordfish afew patrols ago when it flew directly overhead in the opposite direction, the thing exploded in a huge ball of fire about 5 times the size of the craft.

shot down one yesterday in a historical mission. Haven't been attacked in the campaign yet.
Btw, you have to take the FLAK yourself because the AI can't hit a barn. The AI FLAK is way off. It's strange that they didn't add abilities for the FLAK gunner.

Dont shoot at the AC its self aim a little ahead of it
