A shame but my interest in Sh5 is slowly but surely disapearing, been trying to flash her up for over an hour now, and guess what server seems down yet again. Didnt want to post on this drm crap again but hell here we go, wondered if anyone else is having problems here, my launcher updated itself and now just keeps ticking away saying check your internet connection, requies a connection to continue, well my connection is fine, come on ubi sort your S*IT out.

Germany to.
Sweden too.
As i said in my other omigoddownagain thread, it would have been barely barely acceptable if it was ONLY down the first day of release.
But FOUR times?
This is bs. Is this gonna keep happening all the time? This isnt an MMO, where you accept an EULA that says "we reserve the right for unexpected downtime" etc.
This is almost cause for compensation, because i didnt accept nor sign any text that stated that they could take down their servers randomly, i just bought the game and was told that i had to be online to play.
I'm online, and i cant play for the 4th time.
Gimme my money back :(
This game will only become great because of you modders anyway (just like the Total War games), so i actually wish i hadnt paid for it, but rather waited for a you-know-what.

It really sucks doesn't it? SHV is a great game but it's looking more and more like it will be remembered for one thing only.
Looks like it's down world wide. Well, tried the DRM and i'll stay a loooong way from games using this in the future.

I feel for you guys.. I also feel a bit of a w**ker for ordering it too. Its due tomorrow.
I'm seriuously going to look at "bypassing" the DRM
EA tried a nasty DRM for a period and soon stoped putting it on their newer games.
I do believe they will drop it eventually.
Also if its consistantly down I do believe there is a European consumer law regarding services..and the provioder not delivering thir part. I know there definatly is in the UK. Just too lazy to look it up.
Is anyone here kave good knowledge the law?
e.g Laywer/soliciter or Police Officer?

It's instresting to see if this DRM crap with SH5 and AC2 affects the sales of future ubi titles. I think Settlers 7 is next one to be released on 23rd .... I know that I'm not buying that (or any other UBI game )due to this mess with DRM. Otherwise that would have been on my shopping list...
Same here. Not going to spend a dime in *** products unless this madness is removed and the customers are compensated well for the trouble.

There is a Settlers 7???
I spent hours on the very original on the Amiga 500
but back on topic.. this DRM is Bullcrap.
I think they will drop it just like EA had to learn from their mistake.
Its down in Columbus, Georgia too. What a load......:o

Yup, I'm down too. I really didn't care much about the DRM issue, UNTIL NOW!!!! I figured since I had a stable constant connection, no problem. Well--I guess I was WRONG. Seriously, they've got to remove this or there's going to be a class-action law suit before you know it.

See, it doesnt matter.. :har:
[Intelligent-Rant WARNING! Individuals lacking Common Sense are advised to move on.]
The thing about DRM and the corporations who use them / make them, is that they disregard any common sense or remotely sensible logical conclusion.
Its alot like trying to explain string theory to a retarded 4 year old, string theory being why DRM is useless and affects sales, and the retarded 4 year old being Ubisoft. :88)
If Settlers 7 turns out to be an amazing game that sells poorly, they arent going to realize that its because of the DRM. OH NO that could NEVER be the case. Their highly paid, highly educated (in economics, not in anything remotely connected to games) analysts will tell their CEO that the loss in sales was due to this mysterious dark cloud called Piracy that they heard about on Fox News last night, and that only an even more powerful DRM could help bump up sales again.
And an even more simple reason such as, the game simply sucking, is even more inconcievable to boffins like that. They are so far away from understanding games that they dont even comprehend the idea that a game could be good or NOT good, hence resulting in good or bad sales.
The only thing they understand is sales figures, a twisted view on piracy and DRM.
Low sales = need moar DRM
High sales = ppl accept this DRM! moar DRM!
Its a futile effort. It cant improve. :nope:
And of course Silent Hunter V, the game we all are raging about in this thread because we honestly paid for it, and still cant play it, sold rather well. Even with this DRM, which is preventing us from playing the game we (again) paid full price for. (lets repeat that as many times as it takes, until it fully sinks in how friggin illegal it is) The game we paid for, which we are locked out from.
So since it sold well (look at the steam top sellers list), those same boffins will make this connection;
Silent Hunter V + Ultra DRM = Lots of sales! MOAR DRM = bettar games = more sales!! :yeah::yeah:
Would you buy a car if it had an electronic doorlock that randomly turned on, regardless if you were in the car or not? Plus an ejection seat that ejected you randomly whenever your 3G connection was dropped?
Well, would you? See, its the same thing. And i got the DRM companies support in this comparison! :D
Anti-piracy ads compare stealing a car to downloading a game, so i will too.
